1 WEEK TO GO!

And down the stretch they come....

STUDS...BRENT PUNCHES, JEREMY WHITTLESEY

... .328, 2HR, 8RBI...Whittlesey may have just sealed the HR championship, and is all of a sudden only 2 RBI behind TKrauss for the RBI Title...Can JWhitt close out a MVP season???(Google Pic..Jeremy Punches)

DUD...CLARK CARROLL

... .048, 0HR, 3RBI...since wk 16, when he was at .311, he has gone only .232...not a very strong 2nd half for CC...but alot better than last season...

BA

Bindel gained 4pts last week on Hernandez and is now up 10pts with 7 days to go....it would take something crazy to happen for him to lose this one..looks like 3rd is gonna come down to Herlihy, Persinger and Tim Guelde...

HR

Whittlesey has a 2HR lead over Brooks at 43...how high will he set the bar?? 3rd place looks to be between Sunderman and 4 others that are within 2 of him at 37...

RBI

Tim Krauss saw his lead shrink to 2 this week as Whittlesey closed the gap to 131-129...Zgela is at 117 for 3rd with 5 others within 4 of him...

WEEK 24 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK...STACY GUELDE
.520 2HR 9RBI...She raised her BA 11 pts to .284, and now is 6 HRs out of 3rd place...she needs 2 more monster weeks to come close to placing a top 3rd. (GOOGLE PIC..SG)

DUD OF THE WEEK...TY MEYER, JOE KAPCAR
.105 0HR, 2RBI...Bad week for TY..he needs 8HR in the next 2 weeks and some help from others to get 3rd in HRs like he did last year...not looking good...Kapcar is in the same boat, pretty much dunzo

BA RACE
With 2 weeks to go, Hernandez and Bindel are at a virtual tie at .332...8 others are jumbled from .304 to .310...this wont be settled until the last day...

HR RACE
Whittlesey and Brooks are at a tie right now at 41..will we have a co-HR champ for the 2nd straight yr? Sunderman up 2 on EKrauss at 37 for 3rd place...

RBI RACE
TKRAUSS is trying to hold his lead..he is up 7, but Whittlesey is closing hard..about 7 others are going for 3rd place
During these last 2 weeks, I will be posting the updated stats for the top 5 in each category each morning

9-15 POD

Derrek Lee was 2-2, 3RBIs.....Thats big for Zgela as it puts him in 4th place with 108...

WEEK 23 RESULTS

STUDs OF THE WEEK: JODI BIEDERSTEDT, DOUG KRAUSS, RYAN JONES

Not a huge week at all for these 3, but better than the rest in a quiet RTTC week 23. Jodi now has 33HR..can she match her total of 37 last yr?? Doug is at .306, 34, 100...very capable of placing in all 3 cats.....RJ is hanging on by a thread...needs 3 huge RBI weeks to finish in the top 3

Google pic...JDR

DUD OF THE WEEK: BRENT PUNCHES, MIKE MEYER

The 2 guys that are known by their one word names...Punches and Monk, each only had 1 AB this week as Pena got hurt on Monday. There line was 0-1, 0HR, 0RBI, 2 broken fingers...good work guys! Last years MVP, Punches, is not going to be able to defend his crown.

BA...Great Race here...Bindel is at .336, Hernandez is at .335..9 others over .300 fighting for 3rd..

HR..Whittlesey with 40HR now...first to reach that mark in RTTC history, will anyone else join him?

RBI..TKrauss with 127RBI...11 more than 2nd place Whittlesey...but these can be had in a hurry

100th Post

See yesterdays post....but change 39 to 40....JWhitt taking control of the HR race

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Jayson Werth the Pick

Whittlesey takes the lead in HR with his 39th of the yr last as Werth leaves the yard.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

WEEK 22 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK...BRENT WILLIAMSON

.321, 3HR, 12RBI...Willie with a big week puts him up to 4th place in RBIs with 103..20 behind the leader TKrauss....last 2 weeks 18 RBI for him..(GOOGLE PIC...B WILLIE)

DUD OF THE WEEK... Neil Cowan, Jodi Biederstedt.

.118, 0HR, 0RBI...last years, co-HR champ Jodi B is 7 back from the leaders in HRs...so time is running out on her to defend her half of the crown...Cowan pretty much ranks out as average in all 3 categories....he would need a miracle last month to place in the top 3...

BA RACE...Bindel has finally overtaken Hernandez by 1 pt at .334-.333...Hernandez led BA since week 4

HR RACE...Brooks and Whittlesey are all tied at 38...could we have a split HR champ again this year?

RBI RACE..Tim Krauss has a commanding 10RBI lead in this one over Whittlesey...4 more and he breaks the single season record at 127

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

J. Posada, NYY 2-for-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI...Hip Hip.....JORGE.....Posada with a pair of dongs leads the Yanks, who are running away with the AL East.. no one picked Jorge

Monday, August 31, 2009

WEEK 21 RESULTS

STUDS OF THE WEEK: Zeitz, TKrauss, Whittlesey, Prigge
.393, 5HR, 12RBI....HUGE week for these guys...TKrauss and JWhitt, now find themselves 1-2 in RBIs...Prigge is 5th..Whitt is also tied for 1st in HR...making a strong case for Rookie of the year and MVP...Zeitz starting to heat up...like last year, when we called him Mr September...may be too late for him though...Google Pic-ZKWP

DUDS OF THE WEEK, KKrauss, Tim Guelde
.000 0HR 0RBI...Ichiro was supposed to play this week, but could not make it on the field...day-to day all week...tough break for these two, which leads me to....

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME AGAIN..KKrauss is 1-3 in his last 3 weeks!!!! What are the chances of picking 3 straight players who get hurt that week!?!?

HOT
Zeitz... .393 8HR, 17RBI last 2 weeks

.462 4HR, 9RBI.......Kapcar with a big week, but he is gonna need a couple more of these if he is gonna cash a check come october.(PIC...KapTruck)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: Ty Meyer, Kyle Krauss, Brent Williamson, Jeremy Whittlesey

0-2..............Wow...the monday injury attacks again, and in the thick of the RTTC strecth run...all 4 of these guys still have a very good shot at $$...this could be a week that haunts them..

WEEK 18 RESULTS

This is a week that could be the turning point of the 2009 season. We had 4 players come up with a 7 day output that may never be duplicated for a long time...Our BA leader went 1-18 and lost 13 points on his lead...what a week it was...that brings us to.....

STUDS OF THE WEEK: ZGELA, BROOKS, WHITTLESEY, HERLIHY

.448, 6HR, 10RBI...Arguably the best week in RTTC history...what makes it even bigger the top 2 HR leaders before the week started pulled this off. Brooks and JWhitt now have a commanding lead on the rest of the HR field...Herlihy is now 3rd in HR and 2nd in RBIs....Zgela just gave himself new life as he just 2HR shy of 3rd place...the 6HRs in the week is a new RTTC record....Brooks now stands at 5th place on the single season HR Record....with 8 weeks to go...4 more HRs and he is the new champ, unless JWhitt passes him....this could be a McGwire-Sosa-ish HR finish. (Google Pic- Six)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: ROSSI, KAPCAR, S. GUELDE, DAVE KRAUSS, HERNANDEZ

.056, 0HR, 0RBI....On the opposite end of the spectrum than the STUDS...these guys really struggled this week getting only 1 hit(1-18)...the biggest news of this group is that Hernandez dropped 13 points in his BA lead and is now at .336....Bindel stayed steady at .322 in 2nd place...

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME

There were those four STUDS that had 6 HRs this week...Zorn has had 8....ALL YEAR!!

3 UP

Leonard... .412 last 5 weeks...raised BA 37 pts in that time

Brooks 26 hits last 2 weeks...25RBI last 3 weeks

Cowan...8HR last 3 weeks....11 total, prior that

3 DOWN

KKrauss... .171 0HR - 5RBI...last 3 weeks

Josh Biederstedt... .194 1HR - 8RBI..last 5 weeks

Laymon...8RBI last 4 weeks

8-6 POD

Ryan Zimmerman with the huge night...4-4, HR, 3RBI...That is BIG for Tim Krauss, the Virginian that went with the local Nationals star...on a side note....Brooks and JWhitt HR again so the HR lead is at 31

Thursday, August 6, 2009

8-5 POD

Jim Thome with a pair of dingers and 4 rbis was the nights best player...he wasnt picked this week, but now has 19 HRs on the season...and how about donkey Dunn...TY MY is rising up the HR ranks...

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

8-4-POD

PUJOLS, with 2 bombs last night, but no one took him this week...only 8 people left that can take big AL though...could be some strategic moves coming up...after 2 days this week..Adam Donkey Dunn and Mark HRorK Reynolds have both hit 2 dongs...5 people took one of those two including our HR leaders Brooks and JWhitt..they now have 30, and 29

Monday, August 3, 2009

WEEK 17 RESULTS

STUDS OF THE WEEK: GREG LEONARD, DAN RYCHENER

.423, 4HR, 7RBI...Huge picks for a number of people this week, but the best all around numbers go to Leonard and Rychener...Greg is having a great year as he is currently top 10 in all 3 categories.....Not so much of a great year for Dan, but if he can put a few more 3 or 4HR weeks together, he will be right back in the mix.(google pic..leo rych)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: KYLE KRAUSS, JOSH BIEDERSTEDT, MIKE MEYER

.172, 0HR, 0RBI...The only 3 guys this week to have the double donut...After 13 straight weeks with a HR, Kyle now has gone 2 straight without one...Bieder has been struggling down the stretch as well, might wanna chalk this season up to the sophomore slump...Monk dropped 10 pts in BA this week, where he was almost .300...needs a good 2 month run in BA to get a top 3 finish.

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME

Bindel :
Week 14-Manny Ramirez... .455 - 2HR - 8RBI
Week 17-Aramis Ramirez... .455 - 2HR - 8RBI

watch out if he picks Alexei or Hanley soon

7-29-POD

2-5 , 2 HR , 3 RBI ...A couple of dongs for Grandy last night...thats his 3rd in the last 3 games....he could be coming up on one of his streaks...could be a popular pick next week???

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

7-27 POD

3-5 , 2 HR , 8 RBI ...Josh Willingham, with arguably the best night of the year..with 2 grand slams...only the 13th player ever to do so...no one picked him...he plays for Washington

Monday, July 27, 2009

WEEK 16 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK: RYAN JONES

.385 3HR 8RBI...Big week for RJ as he was the only person to hit 3HR...that matches his year high as he did the same back in week 5. He is only 7 HRs back from the leaders, so he could use a couple more Stud weeks to catch up...but there is still alot of baseball to be played. (google pic-RJ)

DUD OF THE WEEK: TIM GUELDE

.222 0HR 0RBI...Tim was the person to not collect an RBI this week, so that gave him the Dud status...his average only dropped 4 points, and he is only 10 pts out of third place in BA...everyone is hoping for a Hernandez collapse in that category.

HOT LAST 3 WEEKS

Leonard .379 5HR 18RBI

NOT LAST 3 WEEKS

Rychener 9-69 (.130) last 3 weeks

Wednesday, July 22, 2009

7-21 POD

2-4, 2HR, 2RBI...Mark DeRosa is back...off the DL and back in the groove...he should get some good pitches to see batting behind Poo-holes the rest of the yr...could be a sleeper pick

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

7-20 POD

3-5 , 2 HR , 7 RBI ....Justin Morneau with a pretty good night....that would have been a good start to the week for some one....but, no one took him this week..big miss

Monday, July 20, 2009

WEEK 15 RESULTS

STUDS OF THE WEEK: Corey Burger, CJ Plymale

.500, 2HR, 5RBI...In the all-star shortened week, these 2 guys made some good ground...there were a bunch of players that had 0HR and 0RBI this week...Plymale now finds himself only 5HRs out of first place...(Google Pic - CJ BURGER)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: Ty Meyer, Eric Prigge

0-9 0HR, 0RBI...the bad part of the short week...you dont get many games to catch up after a bad series..These guys went with Inge...and he has kept the zero's coming since the HR Derby donut he put up...

GETTIN HOT: Plymale...7HRs last 3 weeks...

SLUMPING: Brooks.... .160, 0HR, 2RBI last 3 weeks

Friday, July 17, 2009

7-16 POD

2-4, 2HR, 3RBI...Raul Ibanez starts the 2nd half on fire...Nice picks by Burger and Plymale...

Monday, July 13, 2009

WEEK 14 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK - JARED BINDEL

.455 - 2HR - 8RBI...Bindel topped every category this week taking top Stud honors...He is within striking distance of the triple crown...4th in BA...5HRs back, and 6RBIs back....Other than last week, he has been very consistant. (GOOGLE PIC - JRB)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - ERIC KRAUSS, TOM ZGELA

.120 - 0HR - 0RBI..ouch for me, double ouch for Zgela...This ends my streak of at least 2 RBIs every week, and for ZMan, this is the 8th time he has had 5 hits or less in a week.

STREAKING

Kyle Krauss has hit at least 1 HR in 12 straight weeks...He is due for a dud.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

7-6-POD

4-5 , 1 HR , 4 RBI....Shane Victorino....the Flyin' Hawaiian, led the Phillies in a spanking over the Reds 22-1...He is another player that has never been picked

WEEK 13 RESULTS - MIDSEASON REPORT

STUD OF THE WEEK - SHAWN HERLIHY

.480 4HR 8RBI....Herlihy had the highest BA, and HR this week, and that carried him to Stud of the week honors...he is at .305 19HR and 65RBI for the first half, which has him in great position in all 3 cats....His huge week in RBIs gave him his first All-Star selection...Prime candidate for Rookie of the Year...(google pic...Herl)

DUDS OF THE WEEK- TOM ZGELA, JARED BINDEL

0-6, 0HR 0RBI...The injury bug strikes again...this is the 2nd time for Zgela this year...also he is in danger of not qualifying for the BA Title...A minimum of 503 ABs is needed per RTTC Rules...3.1 ABs per game X 162 games) Despite the bad luck, ZMan and Bindel both are sitting pretty good overall, just need to avoid the injury bug.

ALL-STAR SELECTIONS

Well, we are halfway done with season...time to unleash the 2009 RTTC All-Star Team...This is determined by the top 5 in each category....(the career total is in parenthesis)

B.Hernandez .355 (2nd selection)

WEEK 12 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK: JAY PERSINGER

14-28(.500) 1HR, 1RBI...Usually the stud of the week has big time power numbers, but this week no one had more than 2HRs...also no one came close to Jay's 14 hits, 2 off of the all-time record...He bumped his average up from .285 to .305 going from 24th place to 7th place. (google pic-J Pers)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: TIM G., COWAN, PLYMALE, PRIGGE, CLARK

.261, 0HR 0RBI...This is probably the highest average a Dud will ever get, but, they were the only players to go for 0-0...All 5 of these guys are in the bottom half of the standings in HR and RBI...this week sure didnt help things...

WEEK 11 RESULTS

STUDS OF THE WEEK: SHAWN SUNDERMAN, TROY BROOKS

.389...4 HR 11 RBIs...Huge week for these guys...this puts Sunder right back in contention and puts T-roy Brooks on top...he is now the leader in RBIs at 64, also only 1 back in HRs...(Google Pic..Aww F Troy)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: TIM KRAUSS, BRENT WILLIAMSON

0-8, 0HR-0RBIs..The dreaded early week injury strikes again...they are both very much alive, but a wasted week can come back and haunt ya in September...TBag is only 7 off the pace in RBIs..

6-16 POD

3-4 , 2 HR , 2 RBI...Ian Kinsler is back in the news...he had a heck of a start to the season, but since around Mid-May no one has really picked him...he usually hits his HRs in bunches, so look for a big week from him...

PS...Ryan Smith takes Jason Bay this week, Kapcar takes Peralta

WEEK 10 RESULTS

STUDS OF THE WEEK: TY MEYER and SHAWN HERLIHY

.259, 4HR and 6RBIs...This week saw below average numbers as you can see with the studs average, but they came through with the most home runs to give them the weeks top honor. And in Ty's case he had to have set a record that will never be broken. He actually saw in person, 2HRs for his RTTC player in one day(Pujols-Sat.) So that means someone would have to see his player hit 3 in 1 game to break that record...no chance(google pic-TY-SHAWN)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: JOSH B, CLARK CARROLL, NEIL COWAN

3-24(.125) 0HR, 0RBIs....terrible week for these 3...Josh B is getting killed by his wife this year(similar to last yr)...Clark is dropping quick in BA, and Neil is only hitting better than 3 other people this yr...so, for these 3, things can only get better from here.

HOW WE STACK UP:

BA
David Wright-.364
B. Hernandez-.361

HR
Gonzalez, Pujols, Ibanez-22
Whittlesley-20
RBI
Jason Bay-61
TKrauss, Jodi B-57

6-10-POD

3-4 , 2 HR , 3 RBI...Jose Lopez had a big night for the Mariners...Lopez is yet another player that has never been picked in the RTTC..(regarding pic: He may have been a cross country runner in college??)

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

6-8 POD

2-4 , 2 HR , 4 RBI...Adam Lind was the player of the day for I believe the second time this yr...No one picked him this week as he has only been picked once all year...he could be a sleeper the rest of the way.
PS...Tim G selects A-Rod this week...Sunderman takes Jason Bay

Week 9 Results

STUD OF THE WEEK: Stacy Guelde
.462-3HR-6RBIs...In a week where only 2 players hit 3 HRS...Stacy Guelde gets the nod as the stud of this week beacuse of her huge batting average week. She raised her average 25 pts to .282. After her slow start (11 hits first 3 weeks-12 this week) she has definately righted the ship. She also is now only 5 HRs off the pace. (Google Pic-Mrs. Guelde)
DUD OF THE WEEK: Brent Punches, Dan Rychener
.174-0HR-3RBIs...In a very average week, these 2 guys were the worst...they were 2 of 4 players without a HR this week. But to spin it in a positive way, if there ever was a week to be a dud...this was it. Didn't lose much ground at all.
HOW WE STACK UP:
AVG.
Ichiro-.356
Brandon Hernandez-.364
HR.
Adrian Gonzalez 22
Jeremy Whittlesey 19
RBIs.
Bay/Longoria 55
Jodi Bieder./Tim Krauss 55
Also, congrats to Shawn Sunderman and Greg Leonard and the PH baseball squad for becoming Back-to Back State Champs saturday...well done!

6-2-POD

3-5 , 2 HR , 5 RBI...Raul Ibanez with the big tuesday night...this gives T-roy Brooks #16 and #17, and Monk Meyer #7 and #8...its always good to get some numbers on the board early in the week...

THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE

If you didn't pick Mark Teixeira than you better hope he has a rough week, because 27% or 11 of the RTTCers did pick him. Although no record is kept of this...I am pretty certain that is a single week record for the most selections of the same player.

UPDATE...1 game down this week..Tex went 1-3...6 to go..(please no Homers this week)
