Week 23 Results

And down the stretch we come....this is where the marathon turns into that last stretch and becomes a sprint....and the big winners in WEEK 23 were....

STUDS OF THE WEEK - ZGELA, PENNINGTON

Big week for these 2, as they picked Ryan Howard (10/29, 3 HR 11 RBIs - 24pts)...Zgela is getting hot as he wins his 4th SOTW and also for the 2nd straight week...in just 2 weeks he has gained 36 to his BA and is up to .309...15 pts out of 4th place...Speaking of hot...Pennington gets his 2nd SOTW in the last 3 weeks...and in the last 4 weeks he has 11 HRs and 27 RBIs...he is the season leader in HRs w 36...can he hang on for 3 more weeks?! (Pic Z-Pen)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - MANGAS, EMMONS, PRIGGE, KAPCAR, BINDEL

These 5 guys had a combined 0 hits this past week in a total of 12 at bats...some picked a player that got injured on Sunday, or just didnt get a pick in at all for whatever reason?? Makes it easier for the rest of us to win SOTW....but I do know Kapcar claims that he just had Tommy John Surgery and is out for the year....he isn't the smartest guy out there...and not the happiest as he saw the Wolverines beat his Irish Saturday..rough week Kappy

Handicapping the Races...

BA
To me I'd say if you are above .310 you have a chance at the end of year $..so that puts 13 players in contention here...with a few others close behind that mark...every year this category comes down to the last day...Also a player that is injured cannot be picked to "not lose any ground"...so let me know if you see any injured players selected from here on out...I will say the winner will finish at .325...

HR
On this one, I'd say above 26 HRs still gives you a shot at which means 20 players still alive for some $$...also going to go out on a limb and say Pennington cashes in even if he hits 0 HRs the rest of the way....final HR leader #...I'm going with 40

RBI
The last category..I'd say anyone above 85 right now can get finish in the top 4...every few weeks in seems there is a 10+ RBI week by someone...its easy to make ground up in this one...Winner will have....lets go with 120...
