Quiet day for the RTTC picks...not one pick reached 5 points for the day..There were a few that hit 4, and I picked one...

STUD OF THE DAY - ADAM DUNN -
He was 1/3, 1 HR, and 2 RBIs...It is looking like he will be the comeback player of the year this season....He now has 10 HRs on the year.....last year he hit 11 total...It looks like he is back to his normal self...Will hit about .240-.250 and hit 40 HRs...Emmons and G Badenhop picked the Donkey this week...

5/8 Recap - J Ham History Edition

Not much debate about this one...History made at Camden Yards last night...

STUD OF THE DAY(WEEK??/YEAR???) - Josh Hamilton

5-5, 4HRs, 8RBIs...(17 PTS)  16th time in MLB history that 4HRs has happened..He also had one Monday night, which makes him 5 HRs in his last 6 ABs...

Some tweets from last night to put his performance in perspective....

-Scott Van Pelt ‏ @notthefakeSVP

250 no hitters all time in MLB. 21 perfect games. Only 16 4 HR games. So the history Josh Hamilton writes tonight is more rare

-DKnobler ‏ @DKnobler

Josh Hamilton has more RBI in the last 9 innings than Albert Pujols has this season.

-Matthew Berry ‏ @MatthewBerryTMR

Josh Hamilton now has 14 home runs on the year. The Padres... have 12.

-Dan Barreiro ‏ @DanBarreiroKFAN

Josh Hamilton last night hit half as many home runs as Joe Mauer has hit over his last 160 games.

Congrats to Smith, Price, and Myself to picking Hamilton this week...Good Choice..Oh yeah he has 21 pts this week already, and there are 5 Rangers games left!...I am going to call that he gets more walks than hits the rest of the week...

Week 5 Preview - Old and New Edition

Well, after this week, we will be roughly 20% thru the 2012 season...Lets take a look at the majority picks this week...There were 27 different players picked this week...

Top Pick - Jason Kipnis
Kipnis was picked 6 times, mainly I am sure because the Tribe plays 8 games this week...some people are always trying to get max at bats...we will see how the strategy works out for them...5 people picked Carlos Gonzalez...last week's Stud...and 4 people picked both Big Papi and Ryan Braun...

1st Time RTTC Picks:

Bryce Aron Max Harper...It was only a matter of time til someone picked the chosen one...At 19, I believe he is the first teenager ever chosen in RTTC history...He seems pretty legit so far...I for one, can't wait til he faces Hamels again...He was picked 1 time by Josh B.

Bryan Allan LaHair...This guy is having a huge start to the year...2nd in slugging in the majors to only Matt Kemp....He may be making the oldest RTTC debut at 29 years old...Harper was 9 when LaHair was drafted...LaHair was picked 2 times...

Top Team Pick - The Detroit Tigers

They were picked 11 times...and promptly blew a 9th inning lead last night...The Phillies were picked 8 times who also blew it in the 9th inning....The Tribe were picked 7 times, and swept a doubleheader from the ChiSox...The Astros were picked for the 1st time...

5/7 Stud of the Day - Take your pick of Pedroia and Big Papi...both put up a HR and 5 pts total..

Week 4 Recap -

STUDs OF THE WEEK - WYSE, ZAVISLAK

For the 1st time since Week 1, we have a tie at the top...Josh Wyse and Jon Zavislak both seleected Carlos Gonzalez this week and it paid off for them...He was 9/23 with 3 HRs and 9 RBIs...Good for 21 PTS....They are both in very good position in all 3 categories...It has to feel good for JZ to get in the $$ already, as last year in his rookie year he was shut out...Wyse on the other hand had quite the year last year hitting 41 HRs, and had a great week...he got married last saturday and just finished up his honeymoon, and comes back to the Stud of the week honors...Congrats to you guys...

Dud of the Week - Dave Riether

By the definition of DUD (least pts) Riether gets stuck with it this week (Morneau), but he was hurt on Monday and finished the week 0-2...Just unlucky...There were some other injuries as well early this week...Longoria only got 2 ABs, but got 1 hit....Swisher only got 5 ABs...and Beltre only got 9 ABs...The true Dud should have been Josh Biederstedt who picked Willingham (1-18)..but in order to keep these awards consistant, I had to go with Riether...(I bet Biederstedt wishes he picked Morneau)

HOW WE STACK UP

BA LEADER
MLB - Jeter .397
RTTC - Burger .417

HR LEADER
MLB - Kemp - 12
RTTC - Staley, Davia - 10

RBI LEADER
MLB - Ethier - 28
RTTC - Staley - 27

STUD TEAM PICK of the WEEK - ANGELS AND RAYS

A total of 16 people went 5-2 this week...Props to Graven..only person to roll with the Angels..

DUD TEAM PICK of the WEEK - RED SOX and TWINS

Both of these teams went 1-5 this week...Leonard, Riether and Zgela lost ground in the standings...ZMan finds himself in the cellar..drinking lots of pops by himself...

-3 guys still picking em at over a .700 clip....Berg, Dave Krauss, and Davia...all with only 7 losses through the 1st month...great picking fellas...
