WEEK 26 Results

Wow, what a finish to the season...there will be a documentary on 9/28/2011 some day....lets recap our last week

STUD OF THE WEEK -Vince Salvatore

Vince finished out the season with a bang and went with a very smart pick...most players went with a player from a team that was in a close finish for the wild cards, but Vince went with Matt Kemp (4/13, 2 HR, 6 RBIs) who recently said he would rather have a 40HR -40SB season, than get MVP...so you know he was aware of his stats...he had 37 HRs entering the week....falling 1 shy of his 40-40...he did have 40 SB....and he will probably get that MVP as well...Good Pick Vince...He finishes the season 4th on the money leaders list at $83.32 (end of season prize $ not added yet) (Google Pic - SV3)

DUDS of the WEEK - Ty Meyer, David Rossi

Ty My went with his favorite player Ty Wigginton and he had nothing this week...Rossi went with Konerko, who was hurt and didn't play all week...

WEEK 25 RECAP - 3 DAYS TO GO

STUDs OF THE WEEK - LEONARD, TODD G, DOUG K, MATHEWS, PENNINGTON, M BADENHOP

These 6 guys all went with Jacoby Ellsbury who went 13-34 with 4 HRS and 7 RBIs...(24 pts)...Ellsbury could very well be headed to his 1st AL MVP award this year...Mathews (3rd SOTW) has the BA Championship pretty much wrapped up and is now in fight to get a top 3 finich in RBIs...It was the first SOTW for Leonard, Todd G, and M Badenhop, and the 2nd SOTW for Doug K, and Pennington...(Google Pic - 6er)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Bindel, Krista Krauss

They both went with Aramis Ramirez, who got injured during the week and only managed 7 at bats and got only 1 hit...They both have no shot at a year end top 3, and can only hope for a week 26 SOTW...

Week 26 is only going to be 3 days long, so anyone that can manage 10 points should be in good position to cash...

BA

I am going to go out on a limb saying that Mathews has this wrapped up, with Price in 2nd...3rd place is going to be a battle between Sigler and Jess Kapcar...

HR

Punches has this one wrapped up....2nd place is probably going to Wyse...3rd place is currently tied between Cowan and Banks at 38...4 others are within 2 of that..

RBI

Riether has this one wrapped up...2nd and 3rd will go down to the last day...5 guys within 4 of 2nd place...

I will update the leaders every morning here thru Thursday....

Week 24 Results - Back 2 Back Edition

STUD OF THE WEEK - Tom Zgela

Back to back studs for Tommy Z, as he was the lone player to pick Josh Hamilton this week, who went off for 10 hits, 4 HRs, and 10 RBIs...(24 pts)...He doesn't have a shot at any year end honors, but he did just climb into 4th place on the money leaders list...not bad for a down year for him...Actually in the past 3 weeks he is hitting .393 with 6 HRs and 22 RBIs....Its been a good run for him, as he also walked his youngest daughter down the aisle this past weekend as well, and I will go ahead and assume that he had a couple cold ones that night as well... Double Congrats Z - Man (Google Pic -Z-Man)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Biederstedt, Price, People that didn't submit a pick??

Bieder had some bad luck and picked Tulo who got hurt on Monday...one of those years for the Bieder Bunch...Price picked a Rangers outfielder that didnt get an at bats??? He is still shy of the minimum of 550 at bats needed to qualify for the batting title....And then about 4 or 5 people didnt even submit a pick, which is pretty strange...oh well better for the rest of us....

BA RACE-

1st Mathews - .333 Pretty much wrapped up this title unless Price goes off this week...

2nd Price - .320 Could still catch Mathews if he goes 10/20 or something?? No way loses 2nd

3rd Jess Kapcar - .309 Can she hang onto 3rd? The 4 others below are the only ones that I

4th Sigler - .309 ...see catching her

5th Smith - .308

6th Dillaman - .305

7th D Rychener - .303

HR RACE -

1st Punches - 43...1 more HR sets a new RTTC Record...

2nd Wyse - 38....Needs at least 6 in 2 weeks to win, and that assumes Punches hits 0...tough

3rd Riether - 36...1 HR ahead of 5 guys who have 35...gonna be a good race here..5 others have 33 as well that still have a slight hope...

RBI RACE -

1st Riether - 127 - 10 away from breaking the record of 136...Graven still hanging around?

2nd Graven - 119 - Looking for his 1st top 3 finish since 2008

3rd Burger - 116 - Same as Graven...his last top 3 finish was in 08'...in RBIs

5 others have over 110, and 13 others have over 100...all it takes is a 12 spot to make a huge jump

9/14 Recap - Z Man Going For Back 2 Back

STUD OF THE DAY - JOSH HAMILTON

He only had 1 hit last night but it was a big one...a grand slam, so he had a nice 6 pt night...Zgela(who was a STUD last week) was the lone picker of Hamilton this week and already has 12 pts on the week (4 hits, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs)...Zgela may go back2back??

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

9/13 Recap - BoSox Strike for 18 Runs

STUD OF THE DAY - Jacoby Ellsbury
He was 4/5. HR, and 3 RBIs last night as the Sox put up 18 runs...Tim Krauss was the only one to pick him this week and he is in the running for a top 3 finish in HRs and RBIs....he now has 33 HRs and 108 RBIs on the season...T-Bag is MR Consistant...in his 3 RTTC years he has been an all star 3 times and has over 30 HRs and 100 RBIs in each as well... impressive

...Everyone missed out on the other Sox player from last night who went 4/5, 2 HRs and 5 RBIs...yeah Pedroia put up an 11 spot which ranks on ESPN as the 4th best single game performance of the year.... http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/topperformers , and no one picked him...

HR RECORD UPDATE -
Punches hit #41 last night (Longoria)...getting the champagne out yet?

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

9/12 Recap- RTTC Video of the Year

Week 24 is underway and the RTTC Stud of the night was - Ben Zobrist who went 3/5, with 3 RBIs...He was picked by Kyle Krauss who now has 107 RBIs on the year and is definately in the hunt for a top 3 finish...

Side note - Pennington did get his pick in on time, I just failed to enter it for some reason?...He is going with Adrian Beltre this week and is eligible for the SOTW...

Lastly, take a look at this video from a game 2 weeks ago in Cleveland....What a catch by our very own RTTC owner, John Zavislak...definately the RTTC Play of the Year

Week 23 Results - Chasing the Top

STUDS OF THE WEEK - ZGELA, EMMONS, WYSE

These guys all went with Ellsbury who went 13/32. 2 HR, 6 RBIs (21 pts) The Z Man gets on the board finally after having a rough year...Emmons has his 2nd SOTW in the past 3 weeks, and is only 4 HRs away from 2nd place...Wyse with his 3rd SOTW on the year, and is now the overall money leader on the year so far at $116.66...He also is right in the hunt in HRs and RBIs...could be a very nice payday for Wyse in a couple weeks...(Google Pic - ZEW)

DUD OF THE WEEK - ROACH

Roach continued his streak of picking Tribe players and Grady Sizemore didn't dissapoint...He had a big affect on the Tribe lineup coming back from the DL last week...He did have a big RBI, in 15 at bats...but, you and I both had as many hits last week..yep 0...

LEADERS PULLING AWAY -

BA - Mathews up 20 pts on Price with 3 weeks to go(2.5 really since week 26 is a shorty) at .340...he just has to avoid a big bust week like an 1-25 or something...Price is in a similar boat in 2nd place as he up 9 pts on Jess Kapcar...7 others are above .303 and are in the mix for a spot in the top 3...(ML LEADER - A GONZALEZ - .339)

HR - Big Punches pulling away much like his beloved Detroit Kitties with a career hi 40 HRs...can he get 4 more and break the RTTC single season record? 4 others are tied for second at 35...and about 15 others within shouting distance of 3rd... - (MLB LEADER - BAUTISTA 41)

RBIs- Riether pulling away here with 121 RBIs...8 ahead of Graven and 9 ahead of Mathews...15 others have over 100 and have a legit shot at a top3 finish...RBIs can pile up in a hurry, all it takes is someone with a 13 RBI week to shoot up the board...(see Mathews last week with 11) (MLB LEADER - HOWARD 112)

Friday, September 9, 2011

9/8 Recap - Slow Night

Nothing stuck off the board too much to me as a HUGE night, so going with this guy...

STUD OF THE DAY - Justin Upton
All he had was 1 hit, but it was a solo bomb...I am sure someone had a better day somewhere, but since I don't check everyones stats everyday, I will go with this one...The DBacks have been quite impressive this year as they now have a 7.5 game lead over the defending champs...and now they need to fight with the Brew Crew for 2nd best record in the NL which would mean they avoid facing the Phillies in round 1...Upton now has 13 pts on the week which is unoffically 4 behind our leader V-Mart...Dan Rychener was the only one to pick J-UP this week, breaking his 5 week HR-less drought...

Thursday, September 8, 2011

9/7 Recap - Back At It

This week hasn't been so good with technology...I will leave it at that...Also, I was attending the funeral of the 2011 Indians as they were pronounced dead about early Wednesday afternoon...so..Back in the swing of things now for the stretch run

Yesterday's Stud of the Day - Andrew McCutchen
2/3, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs- The Meek-Shipley combo were the only one to pick him this week..(Pirates homers, haha)

Notables -
Ian Kinsler also had 2 hits yesterday...both solo HRs...good pick by Dillaman
Ellsbury - 4/5, HR, 3 RBIs...huge 8 pt day for Zgela, Emmons, Wyse
V-Mart - 2/5, HR, 4 RBIs...Tigers rollin on to the playoffs led by Vic and MiggyCab...Mathews, nice pick, Vick has 10 RBIs this week already! Mathews going for MVP!
A Gonzalez - 2/4, HR, RBI - Doug K was the only one to pick him this week...

Week 23 SOTW RACE - Thru Wednesday Games (unofficially)
Victor Martinez - 17 pts!
Tulo - 13 pts
Ellsbury - 11 pts
Papi -11 pts
A Gonzalez 10 pts

Thursday, September 1, 2011

8/31 - See Ya August

Stud of the Day - Jacoby Ellsbury
2/5, HR, 2 RBIs - Solid 5 pt day. he was picked this week by Jess Kapcar...she is having herself quite a rookie season, as she is within striking distance in all 3 categories still...best chance for her is Batting Average though, where she was .313 prior to this week...through last night she is now at .314...definately kicking her husband's a$$ this year too...

Other RTTC HRs
-Bautista hit #39 (Banks)
-Pujols hit #32 (Tim Guelde)
-Ortiz hit #28 (M Badenhop)
-Hart hit #22 (Finkes, Emmons)
-Pence hit #18 (Smith, Doug Krauss)

September is upon us, which means the marathon portion of RTTC is done...time to sprint now

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

8/30 Recap - Eat Subway, Ryan Howard Does

Stud of the Day - Ryan Howard
Picked this week by the Daves (Riether and Krauss) Howard went 2/5, with 2 HRs and 3 RBIs last night as the Phills beat up on the Reds...DK now has 33 HRs on the year and Riether has 32 on the year...Also Riether now has 111 RBIs...he could be making a push for MVP...

OTHER HRs Last Night -
--STANTON hit his 31st, which means #37 for Punches(pulling away??), #31 for AF Sunderman, and #14 for TyMy...
--PENCE hit his 17th, which means #29 for Smitty, and #23 for Doug Krauss
--HAMILTON hit #19, which is #23 for Perrotta

Week 21 Recap - Despicable M. E.

STUD OF THE WEEK - MICHAEL EMMONS

Emmons went with Carlos Gonzalez this week and that paid off huge for him, as he went 13/27 with 3 HRs and 10 RBIs...(26 pts) He is pretty far back in AVG and RBIS, but he still has a shot at a top 3 finish in HRs, as now he only sits 6 HRs away from 3rd place...that would be a familiar place as that is where he finished last season...3rd in HRs...This was his 1st SOTW of the year and now he sits in 4th place in the Money Leaders with $50 (Finance Page) (Google Pic - ME)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Curlis and Salvatore

These guys both picked Adam (not pacman) Jones this week and he only got 1 hit...at least that 1 hit got him 2 RBIs...for a total of 3 pts this week...This is the 2nd DUD for each of them and the 2nd straight week for Curlis to be in this paragraph. It is terrible timing for Curlis as he is the hunt in both HRs and RBIs...he needs a big bounce back week...

STREAKS

- Graven has at least 8 hits in 5 straight weeks...The current RBI Leader was hitting .284 prior to that...now at .304

- Salvatore has 5 or less hits in 4 straight weeks...went from .294 to now .276

- C Jones has HR'ed at least once in 14 straight weeks...at least 2 HRs in 3 straight weeks, and has an amazing 30 HRs since week 8...

-...in comparison, his son Ryan has 0 HRs in 5 straight weeks, and 4 HRs since week 8...WOW, you are due for about 5 this week

- Punches has at least 2 RBIs in every week this season, only person to do so ...yet is still 10 RBIs out of 3rd place

- D Rychener has had 2 RBIs or less in 4 straight weeks...

Friday, August 26, 2011

8/25 Recap - All Kinds of RBIs

Lots of great performances yesterday...

Stud of the Day - Brian McCann
McCann went 2/4, with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs...He was picked by Perrotta this week whom is ineligible for the SOTW...

Others Notables -
Granderson - 2/4, HR, 5 RBI...Picked both by the Malinta Mafia duo of Beiderstedt and Stout
B Butler - 4/5, 2 RBI...Picked by Jeff Dillaman

8/24 Recap - AL MVP in Boston?

Stud of the Day - Jacoby Ellsbury
He was 3/5, HR, 2 RBIs last night as the Red Sox crushed the Rangers... Not real sure where the power has come from this year for Ellsbury, but he now has 23 HRs on the year, 2 more than teammate Adrian Gonzalez..I could see him getting lots of MVP votes in October...Rob Price and Todd Sigler were the 2 players to pick him this week, who are 2nd and 5th in Batting Average...

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

8/23 Recap - Here Comes D Rychener

Stud of the Day - Aramis Ramirez
He as the consensus pick of the week and he didn't let the 4 players that picked him down...He went 5/5 with 2 RBIs...so far this week he is a scorching hot 8 for 9 (.889) Of the 4 players that picked ARARAM this week, D Rychener started the week with the highest AVG at .301...and now is already at .313...things can change quick in the BA category, which makes it the most fun to watch down the stretch...

Week 21 Preview - Sweet Lou Edition

32 Different players picked this week...Which I believe is an all-time RTTC high

Most picked player of the week is Aramis Ramirez, the Week 20 Stud...picked 4 times

New pick to the RTTC Board is a doozy...

K Roach picked:

Louis Glenn Marson , Catcher, Indians

Position: Catcher
Bats: Right, Throws: Right
Height: 6' 1", Weight: 200 lb.

Born: June 26, 1986 in Scottsdale, AZ (Age 25)
High School: Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ)
Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 4th round of the 2004 amateur draft. Sent to Cleveland in the Cliff Lee trade..
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coming in to the week Lou was hitting .214 with 1 HR and 10 RBIs...so of course in his RTTC debut last night, he goes 3-3 with an RBI....Roach deserves the Stud of the Week already...

Week 20 Results - Timmy G Salvages Season

Stud of the Week - Tim Guelde

It has been a pretty brutal year overall for Tim G....but this week he salvaged his season with a solo SOTW performance, its his 1st of the season...Unless he can go on a HR binge, its not looking likely he will finish in the top 3 ... He is currently 11 HRs behind 3rd place right now...Congrats Tim on your $50...(Google Pic - Timmy G)

DUDS of the Week - Stout, Todd G., Finkes, T Krauss, Curlis, Holbrook, D Rychener, Roach

The early week injury struck again taking out 8 guys this week...6 of the guys picked Big Papi, who has a bad foot (don't think on the DL) and one guy picked J Kipnis, he was placed on the DL on Monday night..The other, Roach, didn't even get a pick in so he went 0-21, really hurting his BA chances...A few of those guys are in the hunt in the season ending awards, so this week was a bad blow to them.

Last 3 weeks - HOT OR NOT

BA
HOT - PRICE - 28/67 - .417 - Has gained 17 pts on his AVG and is now in 2nd place

8/16 Recap - Graven Tops a Hundo

Busy night in RTTC Land, as a bunch of picked players hit dongs...8 by my count...

Studs of the Day - The 5 Cano Owners...
Robby went 2/5 last night with a HR and 4 RBIs...Graven is one of those owners and thus has topped 100 RBIs for the year...He is looking to soon blow past his career high of 111 RBIs from 2008...The RTTC record of 136 could be in jeopardy at this pace...Mathews also picked Cano and is still keeping strong with his average...

OTHER RTTC Picks that HR'd
Punches hit league leading #34 (Bautista's 35th...he had 3 BBs though, so might not get much to hit)
Pujols - ho hum #30
Tulo hit #25
Aramis Ramirez -#22
Ellsbury - (he has 22 HRs?!?!)
Melky Cabrera - #16
Hamilton - #15...something tells me he could end up with 30 this year yet
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This will be the last update of the week as I am heading down to Jacksonville to watch some AA baseball between the Suns and the BayBears the rest of the weekend, and who knows, I may even watch the Jacksonville Sharks Arena Bowl Championship parade...how fun would that be?!

Week 19 Recap - Lucky #7

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Punches, AF Sunderman, Graven, Willie, Price, Brink, Curlis

These guys all went with Justin Upton this week and he responded by going 13/27 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs...(23 pts) This is Price and Brink's 3rd SOTW, Punches, Graven, Willie's 2nd SOTW, and the 1st for Sunday and Curlis... Punches is now tied for 1st in HRs with 33, and Graven now leads RBIs with 98...will he be the 1st to 100 this year?? Congrats you guys split the $50, $7.14 each...big bucks (Google Pic - Lucky 7)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Brooks

Troy Boy got the shaft this week as Beltran didn't play due to an injury...so that is an obvious 0 pt week...Technically 0 pts is worse than 1 pt, but Mark Reynolds went 1-26 this week...so for that, Ty Meyer and Tim Guelde get the honorable mention Duds...

Where We Rank - MLB vs RTTC Leaders

BA
RTTC - Mathews - .337
MLB - A Gonzalez - .352

HR
RTTC - Punches, Cowan - 33
MLB - Bautista - 34

8/10 Recap - Week 18 Scoring Change

I ran across an article that explains what happened last week in an at bat with Big Papi, read about here ->
http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2011/08/david_ortiz_get.html

Anyways, long story short, the Red Sox appealed a play to MLB where Papi should have been credited with an RBI, and they overturned the initial scoring, so in week 18 Papi now is credited with 4 RBIs, instead of 3. Riether and Salvatore were given credit for the extra RBI...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to this week -

8/10 STUD of the Day
Matt Kemp was 4/5 with an RBI...

Others: Tulo, Cano, Votto, and Pence were the picks that hit bombs last night...

8/9 Recap - Riether Shows Thome Love

In an email from RTTCer Dave Riether:

"This is for the Midwest fellas in the RTTC league (most of you) about my thoughts on this. It is criminal.

Jimmy Thome is about to hit his 600th career homer steroid-free yet it's not even being talked about, amazes me. 8 people in history have done it! 8! Three of those having cheated the game by the way. (Bonds, A Rod, Sosa)

One of the classiest guys ever. Deserves more praise. "

Dave, as a Life Long Tribe Fan...I totally echo your post...Gotta love the Thomenator

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last Night's Stud - Justin Upton

J-Up was picked by 7 people this week and last night was a great night for them...as he went 3/5, HR, 4 RBIs...a nice 8 pointer to start the week out...

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

8/8 Recap - CarGo Sighting

Stud of the Day - John Zavislak

It looks like he hit the only HR of the day with Carlos Gonzalez who was 2-5, HR, and 2 RBIs. He now has 24 HRs on the year with 82 RBIs...definately in the hunt in both categories...

Monday, August 8, 2011

Week 18 Recap

Week 18 was a strange one....The Stud only got 19 pts, and the Duds got 6...so as a whole, not much movement this week...

STUD OF THE WEEK - Josh Wyse

Wyse was 11/29 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs (Pence)...It is his 2nd win of the year and he now finds himself in 2nd place in HRs and 8th in RBIs...Could be on track for Rookie of the Year honors...(Google Pic - Wyse 2)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - R Jones, J Biederstedt

Both of these guys didn't have a typical DUD week as they finished with 6 pts each...For sure the best DUD week of the year so far...Bieder actually raised his average 3 pts this week...Overall this year though, both of these guys have struggled, and barring a miracle tear in the last 2 months, will not finish in the top 3...It's Bieders 3rd DOTW, and Jones 2nd...

BA RACE -

Right now it looks as if it is Mathews race to lose as he currently sits at .339, he hasn't been that high since week 3...Smith is in 2nd at .319, and their are 6 others above .300 looking to make a run

HR RACE -

Cowan is hanging on right now with 32...D Rychener and Wyse are close behind with 31...10 others have at least 25 HRs and are within reach of Cowan..but still plenty of time for others down the list to get hot and make a run...HR LEADER PROJECTED TOTAL = 46 HRs

RBI RACE -

Riether currently in the lead with 92 RBIs...Graven on his tail with 91...13 others have 80 or more and RBIs can pile up in a hurry...the RTTC week record is 17 in a week, so if anyone can approach a number like that, it could change the leaderboard in a hurry...RBI LEADER PROJECTED TOTAL = 132 RBIs

Friday, August 5, 2011

8/4 Recap - 2LO

Stud of the Day - Troy Tulowitzki

Tulo went 3/4, HR and and RBI as the Rox beat the Nats...The 3 hits is just business as usual for the RTTC BA Leader, Chris Mathews...if he can continue to get multi hit games a couple times a week, it may be tough to catch him...So far this week Mathews is 4/12...good for .333, his season avg entering this week - .332

Other HRs

Only other RTTC HR was big Al Pujols, who hit his 25th of the year...he was picked by 3 thre players this week...

Thursday, August 4, 2011

8/3 Recap - Huge Night

STUD OF THE DAY - Michael Cuddyer

Clark Carroll with the big night...2/5, 2HR, 5RBI...9 pointer...Clark is still within striking distance if he stays hot for a couple of weeks...should be in contention for SOTW this week

Other Notable Picks

Granderson - 4/6, 5 RBIs...

Cano - 3/5, HR, 4 RBIs...

Howard also HR'd for the 3rd time this week...

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

8/1 Recap - Cabrera Crushin'

Stud of the Day - Asdrubal Cabrera (Evgeni Malkin look-alike)

He was only picked by Krista Krauss, as she said "He will be big for the Tribe this week during a rough stretch in Boston and Texas...can't go against the Tribe this week"... (even though she didn't watch a single pitch last night)...anyways he went 3-5 with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs...nice 9 pointer to start the week there KJ...

Monday, August 1, 2011

Week 17 Recap - BAs Going Up

Big week for alot of players raising their average...11 of the 26 players picked this week had at least 10 hits...The top dogs were...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Burger, Williamson

These guys both went with Adrian Gonzalez who went 14/27 with a HR and 8 RBIs (23pts)...That shot Burger up 18 pts to .300 and is now in the top 10, definately with a shot to finish high in BA...he is also tied for 6th in RBIs now...big moving week for CB...Willie shot his avg up 16 pts to a respectable .276, He still has some work to do there, but he is only 8 RBIs back of 3rd place with 77, which is easily reachable...Congrats on the $25 each fellas...it can go towards each of your wedding plans....(Google Pic - WB)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - M Badenhop, Sigler

Not very often will the guy you picked hit .333 for the week and still be the dud...B McCann went 2-6 this week, but then got hurt, so this is a tough luck pick for sure...It is the 2nd time this year that Badenhop has gotten the early week injury...Of the 2...Sigler has the best shot in BA, as he is currently in 9th place at .301, up from .300 last week...Not too bad of a dud week at all

Doppelgangers of the week:

Josh Wyse - .272, 29 HR, 79 RBIs

Curtis Granderson - .269, 28 HR, 78 RBIs

Todd Guelde - .281, 20 HR, 73 RBIs

Troy Tulowitzki - .289, 20 HR, 73 RBIs

Friday, July 29, 2011

7/28 Recap - Slow Day

Fairly quiet day yesterday as far as RTTC picks go...

Miguel Cabrera was 2/5 , HR, RBI...Tigers trying their best to keep the Indians in this ALC race...Punches only player to choose him this week

Also with HRs yesterday:

Braun
Pedroia

Look for Mike Stanton to be a hot pick the rest of the way..he is tied for 2nd in HRs in the NL and has only been picked in RTTC 4 times this year...

Thursday, July 28, 2011

7/27 - Upton Scorching

Stud of the Day - Justin Upton - 2/4, 2 HRs, 2 RBIs
This dude has been as hot as anyone in the game for the past 2+ weeks...he is batting over .300 now and has 20 HRs...he will be a hot pick the rest of the season...

Other top performances -
Ellsbury and Pedroia both - 3/4, HR, 2 RBIs
Papi 1-4 but is was a grand slam...RBI record could be in jepardy this week
Mauer - 2/4, HR, 2 RBIs..Mauer's 1st HR of year!
Ackley - 3/5, 3 RBIs...this guy will be playing for a long time...

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

7/26 Recap - Biiiig Papi

Stud of the Day - Papi -

David Ortiz who went 4/5 with 5 RBIs for a crazy 9 pts...That has to be the most pts we have had someone have in 1 day without hitting a HR...Papi was picked by 5 different players this week...I love that pic of him above w Pierce, Allen and Garnett...looks so little

Others -

Pedroia - 4/5, 1 RBI

R Howard - 2/4, HR, 2 RBIs

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

7/25 Recap - Be Like Mike

Stud of the Day - Michael Young - 3/5, HR, 3 RBI - 7 pts

The rich got richer last night...All Star Chris Mathews is the current BA Leader and is now at .328 after he was the only player to pick Young this week...Unofficially he has about a 20 pt lead in BA now and if he widens the gap more this week, Week 17 could be the week that makes Mathews some $$ at the end of the year...

(Side note) - Any Rangers player would have been good last night as they had 27 hits and 20 runs...

Monday, July 25, 2011

WEEK 16 RECAP

It was a rough week for many of us as only 14 players actually improved thier batting average..what a good week to win the SOTW for...

STUD OF THE WEEK - Ryan Smith

Big week for Smitty as not only does he win it all by himself, but that everyone else struggled so much that he now finds himself in 3rd place in BA at .309 ...He went with Jacoby Ellsbury, who was a 1st time RTTC pick and he went 12-26, with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs (22pts). This was his 2nd solo SOTW in the past 5 weeks, and now finds himself as the current 2011 money leader at this point. Congrats Smitty on your winnings...aka diaper stash...(google pic - 2 smitty)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Emmons, Salvatore

This was the 1st DUD for both of these guys this year...They each only got 2 pts this week going with BJ Upton and Adam Dunn...Dunn has just been awful this year...he went 2/12 this week and that RAISED his season average..He is probably hitting his 6th grade weight...At least most of the rest of league had a bad week as well..so could have been worse for these 2...

HOT - last 3 weeks

BA - Smith - 25/66 - .379

HR - Smith, C Jones - 6

RBI - Riether - 16

NOT - last 3 weeks

BA - Leonard - 5/33 - .152

HR - Krista Krauss - 0

RBI - Bindel, Leonard - 3

7/20 Recap - New Guys Go for 6

With the 1st time ever being picked in RTTC this week, Jacoby Ellsbury put up a 6 pointer with 2 hits-both being solo HRs...What a nice pick by Ryan Smith, not sure how he pulled that one off?

Jess Kapcar with the nice pick of rookie and recent RTTC addition, Dustin Ackley who also had 6 points..2/4, HR and 3RBIs...

Others-
Granderson and Han-Ram also went yard - 11 people picked one of those 2...

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

7/19 Recap - Full of Duds

Not much positive action I see from last nights games...looks like 0 HRs were hit combined by all 53 of us..I don't track stats daily, but I have to believe that doesn't happen often...

Yesterday's Top RTTC Duds

Prince Fielder - 0/5 , 2 Ks, GDP
Adrian Gonzalez - 0/4, 2 Ks, GDP
Joey Votto - 0/4, 3 Ks

Week 15 Results

Sorry for the mess up yesterday, the "last 7 days stats" on MLB.com Fantasy for some reason was counting July 14th games twice, very strange...so i guess just a good reminder to always double check what your stats are in case their is a mess up...so the revised week 15 SOTW are...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Doug Krauss, Derek Meek

Both of these guys get their 1st SOTW of their careers...Markakis was the man for Doug and Hanley Ramirez for Meek as they both pulled in 12 pts in the 4 day week, which would equal 21 pts during a normal week, which sounds about par for the course...Doug is having his best success this year on the BA side of things where he is at .285 and definately capable of making a run there...look for him to start picking all high average guys in the 2nd half...Meek (and his silent "partner" Shipley) are probably having their best success in HRs where they are only 6 back from 3rd place right now....so there is plenty of time climb the board...Congrats on the $25 each....(Google Pic - Double D)

DUDS of the WEEK - Tim Guelde, Kyle Krauss, Krista Krauss

Rough short week for these 3...Tim and Krista went with A Gonzalez who went 1 for 15, and Kyle went with C Pena who also went 1 for 15...Of the 3, Kyle is in the best shape overall being in the top 10 in HRs and RBIs, but any more weeks like this and the SOTWs will be the only way to get some cash...Tim has had a forgettable past month and half as he has 3 Duds in the last 6 weeks, and now finds himself 2nd to last in BA...speaking of slumping bad....Krista has 7 pts in the last 3 weeks!...I think that is karma for talking trash at home to me throughout this whole season...live and learn KJ...

MLB VS RTTC - Where we rank

BA

RTTC - W Rychener - .324
MLB - J Reyes - .354

HR

RTTC - D Rychener - 28
MLB - J Bautista - 31

Week 14 Results

The MLB All Star break is finally here, so we are off until Thursday when action resumes for Week 15...Week 15 will be a short week that only lasts 4 days, so around 15 points should have a good chance at the SOTW...Here is what happened last week...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Rossi, C Jones

It is fitting that these 2 finished off the 1st half with the SOTW as they both are now tied for the most this season with 3 each. They picked Aramis Ramirez and he put up 20 pts... Rossi is the current $ Leader so far with $85 in the bank, overall though his numbers are just a little bit better than average, but he is still capable of getting a top 3 finish in 1 of the categories. Jones has been absolutely on fire in the past 6 weeks...In that time he has gotten 3 SOTWs, 10 hits: 5 different times...batting .409 with 17 HRs and 43 RBIs...his first 8 weeks he was .251 with 5 HRs and 28RBIs...Last years MVP is looking to make it back to back this year...Also he is pissed that he got snubbed from this years All Star Game...(Google Pic - RJ3)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Leonard, Price

The tough luck losers of week 14...They went with Braun last week who got a total of 0 at bats....ouch...It is always tricky when there is a Sunday injury and he doesn't go on the DL...not much you can do about it. Leonard has had a fairly average year so far and this is his 2nd DOTW...Price is having a good season and is only 1 of 10 players currently batting over .300, and is in the top 15 in RBIs...Regroup over the break fellas...

2011 RTTC $$ Leaders

27 of the 53 players have at least 1 SOTW this year, thus are on the $ board...here are the leaders that are over $50...

1. Rossi - $85

2. Wyse - $50

3. Smith - $50

4. Zeitz - $50

5. Palumbo - $50

6. Sigler - $50

Week 15 picks due Thursday at 5PM...Those of us that are not all stars, enjoy your 3 day vacation..

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Evan Hitsem Long-oria

Last nights top RTTC pick was Evan Longoria, who went 3/6, HR, and 4 RBIs...good for an 8 pointer...The Rays beat up on the Twins 12-5 and quietly have the 3rd best record in the AL..too bad they are in the AL East, behind both the Sox and Yanks...

Biederstedt, Cowan both picked Long-gone-goria this week...

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

7/5 Recap - Grandy Man Edition

Granderson was 3-6 with 2 HRs and 3 RBIs last night as the Yanks spanked the Tribe 9-2...He has 25 HRs on the year now...only trailing Bautista who has 28...

Dave Krauss, Lyndsay Jones, Derek Meek all picked the Grandy Man this week..he also had a HR on Monday, so you could be looking at the week 14 Studs right here...lots of ball left though this week...

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

2011 RTTC ALL STAR SELECTIONS

We are at the offical RTTC season halfway mark...13 weeks down, 13 to go...but in the last 13 weeks we will have 2 shortened weeks...Week 15 will after the MLB ALL Star game and will only consist of 4 days, and Week 26 will only be a 3 or 4 day week as well...but anyways, there is still lots of cash to be handed out with the SOTW plus the 9 year end spots...Onto the mid-year awards(which mean nothing, just pride baby)

1st Half Stud - Dan Rychener - .323 - 25HR - 62RBIs - "190 pts"

It will be hard to keep that pace up for the 2nd half...or will it?? Dan, it is your MVP trophy to lose...

1st Half Dud - Eric Krauss - .231 - 8HR - 38RBIs - "107 pts"

I would like to think it will be hard to keep this awful pace up as well...wow, talk about getting lapped by the field..I have 61 hits this season...17 players have at least that many RBIs!!!..SMH

1st Half Rookie of the Year - Todd Sigler -.321 - 18HR - 62RBIs - "183 pts"

Todd has had a great 1st half and is in good position to place in all of the top 3's...unless he switches his focus to one category????

The week 12 consensus picks strikes....Troy Tulowitzki with only 1 hit last night, but he made it count as it was a 3 Run Homer...He also drew 2 BBs , but the Rockies blew the lead that Tulo gave them as they lose in 10 innings to the hated White Sox...

Remember that Monday is a holiday, so you may not be around to check email..get your picks in ASAP so you are not late. have a great weekend!

6/29 Recap - Mets Beat Miggy

Stud of the Day -

Miguel Cabrera - 2/4, 2HR, 4RBI...nice little 8 pt performance by Miggy...he was picked by 6 people this week...The Tigers have given up 30 runs to the Mets in the past 2 days...good thing they have the best pitcher in the game going today in Verlander, otherwise Miggy would need about 4 bombs...

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Week 13 Preview

With only 1 week left before the RTTC All-Star selections are made, lets see who can make a push to be in the top 5, of 1 of the 3 categories and be named and all-star (which means nothing by the way)

-28 different picks this week, I think most of the year

-Tulo was the top pick getting snagged 7 times

-Miguel Cabrera was 2nd most with 6

-Josh Hamilton had 4 picks

New to the RTTC Board-

Melvin Emanuel Upton AKA - BJ which stands for "Bossman Junior", because his Dad was called Bossman...really...I can't make that up...He joins his bro Justin on the RTTC board, and are the only 2 players related on the board...I think, although there are tons of Cabrera's and Gonzalez's, etc??

6/27 Stud

CARGO - 2/4 - 2HR - 2RBI....not a bad start, I would say

Monday, June 27, 2011

Week 12 Recap -

It was a big week for the Batting Averages for a lot people...There were 26 different players picked this week and 10 of them hit over .300 for the week...which brings us to the to pick of the week...

STUD OF THE WEEK - RYAN SMITH

Just over a week ago a quote from Smitty that was based off his RTTC struggles..."Man, I am about done with RTTC...that game is dumb"...well maybe he should say that every week, as he went 13/27 with 4 HRs and 9 RBIs...26 pts...via M. Young...In the past 2 weeks he has raised his AVG 36 pts and now is over .300 and in great shape...Speaking of "Young"...Smitty is about a month-ish away from having a couple of young ones as he and his wife are expecting twins...Hope the $50 will buy some nice diapers..Congrats - (Google Pic - Dirtball (in Honor of Punches))

DUD OF THE WEEK - JESS KAPCAR

Jess went w B Gardner this week and he did dissapoint by getting only 3 hits...The first week back from her honeymoon to boot, ouch...talk about back to reality quick..oh well I am sure the beach was well worth it...but time to refocus, beacuse the honeymoon is over...Overall, she is still in good shape, as she is in the top third of each category still...

WHO'S HOT/NOT - LAST 3 WEEKS

BA

HOT - Zeitz - 32/74 - .432
NOT - Todd Guelde - 13/72 - .181

HR

HOT - Zeitz - 8

NOT - WRychener, Perrotta - 0

RBI

HOT - Zeitz - 27
NOT - Perrotta, Carroll - 5

I think it is safe to say the Zeitz is enjoying a nice little run here...This is the last week to make your all-star push...

6/22 Recap - Miggy Hits #15

Miguel Cabrera is quietly on his was to another .320 - 30HR and 120 RBIs...hard to argue against him being the best hitter in the game...He was picked 3 times this week and last night he was 2/3 with a HR and 2 RBIs...On a side note Bautista hit the MLB leading #22 last night, and he was only picked by 1 person this week - Tim Guelde...It is not too often that someone can be the lone picker for the MLB HR leader...Tim is looking to take advantage of that with abut 4 more HRs from Joey Bats...

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

6/21 Recap - Konerko Streakin'

No one is hotter in MLB right now than Paul Konerko...he has HRed in 5 straight games, and now has 21 on the year, tied for the MLB lead...There were 6 players that went with Paulie this week..

Michael Young also homered last night, which ended up being a pretty quiet night in the RTTC world...

Monday, June 20, 2011

Week 11 Recap -

In the last few week there were multiple players that ended the week with over 20 pts...not so much this week...

STUD OF THE WEEK - Nick Palumbo

Rookie, Nick Palumbo was the lone STUD this week as he went with Cano and ended the week 11/29 with 2 HRs and 5 RBIs...(18 pts)...The nice week for Nick puts him in 4th place in Batting Average now at .313...He is also in the top 15 in RBIs only 10 back from the leader with 53... Congrats Nick on your first SOTW (Google Pic - Palumbo)

DUD OF THE WEEK - Jeremy Stout

Stout with a very rough week going 2/24 with Longoria...That dropped his avg from the league leading .328 last week, to .305 this week, dropping 7 spots in that span. He has a league average 14 HRs and is only 8 back in RBIs with 55...so overall, Stoutit is having a very nice year...

RTTC vs MLB LEADERS:

BA

RTTC - W Rychener - .322
MLB - A Gonzalez - .348

HR

RTTC - Wyse - 22

MLB - Bautista, Granderson, Tex - 21

RBI

RTTC - Price - 63

MLB - A Gonzalez - 64

We are pretty much right on pace with the MLB...kinda strange how that seems to work out...

6/15 Recap - 2 Tex Messages

The pick of the day yesterday was another Yankee...Mark Teixeira who went 3/5 with 2 HRs and 5 RBIs, good for a 10 pointer....a lot of us won't get 10 pts all week!...he was picked by 3 different players...Tex now leads the MLB in HRs with 21, tied with Granderson and Bautista...must be an AL East thing to drop bombs

Mark Teixeira ties Eddie Murray, Chili Davis, hitting HR from both sides of the plate for 11th time in career.

6/14 Recap - Curtis Crushin It

Last weeks Stud Prince Fielder was picked 7 times this week...

Week 10 Recap -

You know there were some big numbers out there this week when someone picks Tulowitzki and gets 27 points...and doesn't win the SOTW...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Kyle Krauss, John Zeitz

It was a bad week for the "King", but a great week for the "Prince"...Prince Fielder was THE pick this week as he went 10/20 with 6 HRs and 13 RBIs (29 pts) ...The 6 HRs ties the RTTC single week record...This is the 2nd SOTW for Zeitz, and in week 6 he also had 6 HRs....So take a look at Zeitz week 6 and 10 totals: .457, 12 HR, 22 RBI...and now the other 8 weeks - .221, 4 HR, 26 RBI...talk about getting them in bunches...Kyle also is heating up bigtime...last 2 weeks he is .400, 10 HR , 20 RBIs...congrats on the SOTW and splitting the $50. (Google Pic - KKJZ)

DUD OF THE WEEK - Tim Guelde

He went with Matt Joyce last week and was let down as he only mustered 2 hits, but had 2 RBIs though...His 3 week drought is continuing as in that span he is .182, 0 HR, 6 RBIs...he looks to break out this week and make a run before the all-star break...

Stat that may only amaze me -

Andre Perrotta has 9 HRs and 41 RBIs

Doug Krauss has 9 HRs and 18 RBIs...Doug must be the king of solo HRs???

6/9 Recap - J Ham

This weeks consensus pick of Josh Hamilton (picked 7 times) did not disapoint last night as he went 2/4, with a HR and RBI, but the Rangers lost to the surging Twins...Kemp, Konerko, Berkman and Cruz also HRed last night...

Guest Blogger - Joe Kapcar

Hello fellow sport fans. This is guest blogger Joe Kapcar . I want to congratulate my Delphos St. Johns Blue Jays on making it to the state semi finals in high school boys baseball. Yet again, DSJ has
proven its self a dominate force in high school sports.

My last comment is it comment on the outstanding performance that Jessica Ceritelli is displaying with a batting average of .295, 14 homeruns, and 37 RBIs. She will be shortly changing her last name to Kapcar, because we will be getting married on June 11, followed with a trip to the Grand Caymans to drink, relax, and drink. Thanks to all of our friends who be attending the wedding and we look forward to celebrating with you.

Before I forget, there is a HUGE sweater vest sale, here in Columbus, along with cheap cars.

Good luck and GO NOTRE DAME

-Joe

**Commish Note - The views of Kappy do not reflect those of RTTC....any and all guest bloggers are welcome at any time..just send your write up to the rttcpicks@gmail.com email**

Two guys from Texas recently off the DL were the 2 most picked players this week:

J Hamilton - 7

N Cruz - 6

M Kemp - 6

R Braun - 5

Last Night's Top Performer:

Nelson Cruz was 2/4 with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs...always good to get the week off to a good start...this guy seems to hit HRs in bunches, so expect more from him this week...Cowan is one of the 6 to pick Cruz, and now has 19 HRs on the year tied w/ Wyse...

**There were no late picks this week: Wyse picked Bautista, C Jones picked Kemp and Perrotta picked Bruce...just missed their emails**

Week 9 Results

Big week for many of you out there...and some bad luck out there as well...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Punches, Stout, Banks, Cowan, Price, C Jones, G Badenhop

One of the biggest weeks of the year as these guys all went (before this week struggling) Al Pujols...All he did was go 12/27, 5 HRs and 10 RBIs...including walk off bombs Saturday and Sunday...This is Banks, Stout, and Badenhop's 2nd SOTW of the year...Stout has now taken over the BA lead at .327...Cowan is now 2nd in HRs at 17....and Stout is now 4th in RBIs with 49...C Jones may be getting his MVP form back from last year as he doubled his HR total this week to 10....Congrats on the big week and the $7.14...lunch is paid for today...(Google Pic - Super 7)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Burger

One of the couple of people who got hurt by some bad luck this week was Burger...In the first AB of the week from Soriano, he pulled his quad and finished the week at 0/1....The Monday injury strikes again...Tim Guelde and Doug Krauss also with some bad luck with Holliday and Kubel...at least hey got some hits first....its a part of the game, and nothing you can do about it...

How We Stack Up vs MLB Leaders

BA

RTTC Stout .327

MLB Bautista .348

HR

RTTC Wyse 19

MLB Bautista 20

RBI

RTTC Curlis 55

MLB A Gonzalez 50

June 1 Update - Summer is Here

The Memorial Day weekend was a busy one for this guy, so sorry for the lack of posts in the past 5 days...Week 8 saw Rossi take down SOTW honors all by himself, his 2nd of the year....and Ty My and Lynds Jones (2nd of year) were the 2 duds...

Week 9's popular picks are Pujols, and Bautista chosen 7 and 6 times respectively....

Tweet of the week... Todd Guelde ( @tguelde) is already counting his money from this weeks Stud of the week...he picked J Upton this week, and after his Monday performance, he simply wrote " Justin Upton #SOTW"...lets see if he can do it for the rest of the week...Pressure on Guelde

We are pretty much at the 1/3 mark of the season, since the all star week is short and this year week 26 will be short...lets take a look at a few things....

Whos HOT?

Last 3 weeks - Dave Krauss 55 pts - .385, 6 HR, 19 RBIs

Whos Not?

Last 3 weeks - L Jones, Roach, Doug Krauss, Banks, Ty My, Smith all with only 21 pts...

Trending Up...Finkes...He started the season at .143, but every week, he has slowly climbed up, and is now at a respectable .265

Trending Down...Zgela...He started at .455 in week 1, but since, has slid a lil but every week and is now sitting at .261

HR Streak...Only Emmons and Wyse have HR'd every week this season so far....how long will that last?

RBI Streak...Burger is the only player with at least 4 RBIs in each week....no wonder he is in 2nd place in RBIs...On the other end of the RBI spectrum....Doug Krauss has only had 2 weeks with 4 RBIs...and only has 12 for the year...doubtful he will reach his career average 104 RBIs this year...in order to do so, he will need 5 per week from here out...thats rough (google pic - 1/3 done)

5/25 Recap

Stud of the Day - David Rossi

Rossi with a big day going with Carl Crawford, who went 4/4, HR, 2 RBIs as the Sox roughed up the Tribe...Crawford is starting to heat up, he is still only batting .229 for the year, but in the past 7 days he is at .370 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs...he is due to start playing well again..

5/24 Recap - A CarGo Sighting

Stud of the day - The 3 Carlos Gonzalez Owners....

The Rockies split a double header with Zona and CarGo had quite a day, going 3/8, 2 HRs and 4 RBIs....After a breakout season last year finishing 3rd in the MVP voting, CarGo has been fairly quiet thus far in 2011...thru yesterday he is hitting .251...so expect CarGo to be a solid pick for the rest of the RTTCers...

Week 8 Preview

No surprise here as Jose Bautista was the consensus pick this week as 9 players picked him...and he HR'd in his first AB...

Ryan Howard was picked 7 times...and Adrian Gonzalez was picked 5 times...

Only 21 different players were picked this week...

**Brooks got his pick before the start of the Brewers game last night and picked Braun, just will not be eligible for SOTW**

Monday, May 23, 2011

Week 7 Recap

Not very often does the concensus top pick of the week ened up being the SOTW, but this week that is exactly what happened...

Studs of the Week - Stout, Da. Krauss, Kapcar, R. Jones, Price, Pennington, Finkes, Perrotta

These 8 all went with Adrian Gonzalez who has been absoultely nuts in the month of May...Last week he was 13/27 with 7 RBIs (20pts)...This may be the first time ever that the SOTW did not hit any HRs...Each of the 8 Studs all on average raised their BA about 40 pts...Also this was the 1st SOTW for all 8 players getting them a pay out of $6.25 per....Congrats on the big week...(Google Pic - Elite 8)

Duds of the Week - Biederstedt, Banks, Brink

The not so killer B's this week all went with V Martinez and he did not deliver as he only got 3 hits in 19 at bats for a total of 3 pts....Of the 3, Brink is having the best year so far and is now under .300 for the first time all year at .295...

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME:

Since week 3, E Krauss (ME) has only 14 hits total...the SOTWs had 13 this week....unreal...and a side note the STL Cards "big 3" has just killed me this year going 9/66 .136 total when I picked them.

5/18 Recap

Too bad Sunderman didn't get his pick in on time and isn't eligible for the SOTW, because Ryan Ludwick is off to a good start this week...last night he went 2/3, HR, 2 RBIs...Matt Joyce also had a good night going 1/3, HR and 2 RBIs for the 2 Joyce owners...

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

5/17 Recap - The Loner Homer

Only 1 player picked this week HRed last night...and that is Matt Kemp...he was picked by 2 players:

Burger now has 10HRs and Rossi now has 9...

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Week 7 Preview

The top pick of the week is Adrian Gonzalez, as he was picked 8 times, and he is off to a good start as he had 3 hits and 3 RBIs last night, including a walk off 2B.

Jose "Babe" Bautista was picked 6 times and Ryan Braun was picked 5 times.

First Time RTTC Picks-

Matt "Sweet Swingin"Joyce

Jeff "Frenchy" Francoeur

Both of these newcomers were picked twice

**Sunderman picked Ryan Ludwick before the SDP game last night, and is not eligible for the SOTW**

Week 6 Results

What a week for a lot of RTTCers....I never would have thought a guy with 5 HRs and 10 RBIs (Gonzalez)...in a week would come in 2nd place in SOTW Rankings...most weeks those 24 pts would have been an easy winner...but not this week...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Zeitz - KJ Krauss
A very good week by these 2 capped off by a GREAT sunday where J Bautista hit 3 HRs...and gave him 6 for the week...a stat line of 11/26 6 HRs and 9 RBIs (26 Pts)! This is the 1st SOTW for both of them..They are in the middle of the pack in all categories, except Krista is now 2nd in HRs with 13...Big Papi - Dave Krauss also picked Bautista and was credited with full stats, just wasn't eligible for the SOTW for being late with his pick...(he was still pissed about the Derby results) (Google Pic - KJZ)

DUD OF THE WEEK - Roach

The bad luck hit Roach this week as his guy Adam Lind was scratched from the lineup all week with a bad back, tough to see that coming when he isn't even on the DL...The Blue Jays like to do this it seems....I got screwed with Bautista last week doing the same thing....tough luck Roach, go get em this week buddy

Where we rank-

BA

MLB - Matt Holliday - .379

RTTC - W Rychener - .353

HR

MLB - Jose Bautista - 16

RTTC - Curlis - 14

RBI

MLB - Ryan Howard - 35

5/10 Recap - Adrian Again

STUDS OF THE DAY - A Gonzalez Owners...

4 different players picked AGONZ this week and he is off to a huge start for them...last night he went 3/6 with 2 HRs and 3 RBIs...Can Gonzalez be a back-to-back stud of the week award winning pick?
