Well I never thought we would see it happen, but Miguel Cabrera did the name of our game..got the Triple Crown..It was quite the Race as well...we had the same type of drama going into last night and it wasn't settled into the last AB of the year for Curtis Granderson...Below are the winners of the this years edition of RTTC...
BA CHAMP - TIM KRAUSS - Finished the year at .334...Tim had 8 weeks of double digit hits and hit .342 in the 2nd half of the season...The biggest week of the year for him was probably week 8, where he went 15/30...Congrats T-BAG! - $320.60
BA - 2nd Place - DAN RYCHENER - Finished the year at .329...Dan had a chance late, but went 1/10 in week 26 to fall to 2nd place...From week 20 to 25, Dan was over .300 every week to get him into the top 3 - $133.58
BA - 3rd Place - DAVE REITHER - Finished the year at .324...What a huge finish to the year by Dave..In weeks 24 and 25, he made the big comeback by hitting .490 in that span...Molina hurt him in week 26 by going just 1/7 and sitting out the last game. - $80.15
HR CHAMP - RYAN SMITH - ROB PRICE - Both finished with 43...Price had this one wrapped up seemingly up until the 7th inning last night in NY, when Curtis Granderson hit his 2nd HR of the night to pull Smith into a tie for 1st...Unreal comeback with 2 HRs on the final night of the year for Smith to cap a unreal year for him...You can look to week 5 for both of these guys - when they picked Hamilton and he had 9 HRs that week..no wonder they won ( I picked him too that week...woops, yeah I blew it this year) - Congrats on splitting 1st and 2nd $$ - $227.09 (Rob that Grandy HR last night cost you about $100 just so you know..he sent me a text last night that simply read : I HATE THE YANKEES) Well said!
HR - 3rd Place - MATT BANKS - Finished with 42 - He has to be bummed he missed the top prize here, He was in 1st for a lot of the 2nd half of the year - and to boot, Beltran didn't play last night for him to even give him a chance...Looking back to weeks 3-6 probably cost him the big $$ as he only had 1 HR in that month span.. - $80.15
RBI CHAMP - RYAN SMITH - Finished with a new RTTC record 140 RBIs..That will be hard to break, because one would need about 5.5 a week to do it..He has had this wrapped up for a few weeks, but he kept adding on late - Grandy with 4 last night got him the record...Again week 5 when he picked Hamilton set him up for the season when he had 18 that one week - He also had 20 weeks where he had at least 4RBI..thats the consistency it takes to win these things..$320.60
RBI - 2nd Place - ROB PRICE - Finished with 120 - Broken record here, but the 18 RBIs he got from Hamilton helped him big time...Also week 21 he got 10 from Reddick and the ridiculous A's - $133.58
RBI - 3rd Place - MATT BANKS - Finished with 114 - Not sure how he hung onto 3rd place, but he deserved it after the tough luck he came into during the HR Race...He got 0 RBIs in week 26 but the 2 people behind didn't either and he hung on... $80.15
That wraps up the season ending results...Lets see how this years RTTC leaders compared to the MLB Leaders..always amazes me how close these usually are:
BA
RTTC - T KRAUSS - .334
MLB - B. POSEY - .336
HR
RTTC - SMITH, PRICE - 43
MLB - CABRERA - 44
RBI
RTTC - SMITH - 140
MLB - CABRERA - 139
Thats pretty crazy!
The playoffs are here and once the draft gets completed, we still have to crown our 2012 WS RTTC CHAMP. I will post periodic updates on here throughout the playoffs, and at some point tonight or tomorrow reveal the MVP and Rookie of the Year as well as the final $$ distribution. Email me your address for where to send your winnings..
