WEEK 26 Results

Wow, what a finish to the season...there will be a documentary on 9/28/2011 some day....lets recap our last week

STUD OF THE WEEK -Vince Salvatore

Vince finished out the season with a bang and went with a very smart pick...most players went with a player from a team that was in a close finish for the wild cards, but Vince went with Matt Kemp (4/13, 2 HR, 6 RBIs) who recently said he would rather have a 40HR -40SB season, than get MVP...so you know he was aware of his stats...he had 37 HRs entering the week....falling 1 shy of his 40-40...he did have 40 SB....and he will probably get that MVP as well...Good Pick Vince...He finishes the season 4th on the money leaders list at $83.32 (end of season prize $ not added yet) (Google Pic - SV3)

DUDS of the WEEK - Ty Meyer, David Rossi

Ty My went with his favorite player Ty Wigginton and he had nothing this week...Rossi went with Konerko, who was hurt and didn't play all week...

Week 14 Results

The MLB All Star break is finally here, so we are off until Thursday when action resumes for Week 15...Week 15 will be a short week that only lasts 4 days, so around 15 points should have a good chance at the SOTW...Here is what happened last week...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Rossi, C Jones

It is fitting that these 2 finished off the 1st half with the SOTW as they both are now tied for the most this season with 3 each. They picked Aramis Ramirez and he put up 20 pts... Rossi is the current $ Leader so far with $85 in the bank, overall though his numbers are just a little bit better than average, but he is still capable of getting a top 3 finish in 1 of the categories. Jones has been absolutely on fire in the past 6 weeks...In that time he has gotten 3 SOTWs, 10 hits: 5 different times...batting .409 with 17 HRs and 43 RBIs...his first 8 weeks he was .251 with 5 HRs and 28RBIs...Last years MVP is looking to make it back to back this year...Also he is pissed that he got snubbed from this years All Star Game...(Google Pic - RJ3)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Leonard, Price

The tough luck losers of week 14...They went with Braun last week who got a total of 0 at bats....ouch...It is always tricky when there is a Sunday injury and he doesn't go on the DL...not much you can do about it. Leonard has had a fairly average year so far and this is his 2nd DOTW...Price is having a good season and is only 1 of 10 players currently batting over .300, and is in the top 15 in RBIs...Regroup over the break fellas...

2011 RTTC $$ Leaders

27 of the 53 players have at least 1 SOTW this year, thus are on the $ board...here are the leaders that are over $50...

1. Rossi - $85

2. Wyse - $50

3. Smith - $50

4. Zeitz - $50

5. Palumbo - $50

6. Sigler - $50

Week 15 picks due Thursday at 5PM...Those of us that are not all stars, enjoy your 3 day vacation..

June 1 Update - Summer is Here

The Memorial Day weekend was a busy one for this guy, so sorry for the lack of posts in the past 5 days...Week 8 saw Rossi take down SOTW honors all by himself, his 2nd of the year....and Ty My and Lynds Jones (2nd of year) were the 2 duds...

Week 9's popular picks are Pujols, and Bautista chosen 7 and 6 times respectively....

Tweet of the week... Todd Guelde ( @tguelde) is already counting his money from this weeks Stud of the week...he picked J Upton this week, and after his Monday performance, he simply wrote " Justin Upton #SOTW"...lets see if he can do it for the rest of the week...Pressure on Guelde

We are pretty much at the 1/3 mark of the season, since the all star week is short and this year week 26 will be short...lets take a look at a few things....

Whos HOT?

Last 3 weeks - Dave Krauss 55 pts - .385, 6 HR, 19 RBIs

Whos Not?

Last 3 weeks - L Jones, Roach, Doug Krauss, Banks, Ty My, Smith all with only 21 pts...

Trending Up...Finkes...He started the season at .143, but every week, he has slowly climbed up, and is now at a respectable .265

Trending Down...Zgela...He started at .455 in week 1, but since, has slid a lil but every week and is now sitting at .261

HR Streak...Only Emmons and Wyse have HR'd every week this season so far....how long will that last?

RBI Streak...Burger is the only player with at least 4 RBIs in each week....no wonder he is in 2nd place in RBIs...On the other end of the RBI spectrum....Doug Krauss has only had 2 weeks with 4 RBIs...and only has 12 for the year...doubtful he will reach his career average 104 RBIs this year...in order to do so, he will need 5 per week from here out...thats rough (google pic - 1/3 done)

5/25 Recap

Stud of the Day - David Rossi

Rossi with a big day going with Carl Crawford, who went 4/4, HR, 2 RBIs as the Sox roughed up the Tribe...Crawford is starting to heat up, he is still only batting .229 for the year, but in the past 7 days he is at .370 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs...he is due to start playing well again..

Week 5 Recap

Lots of poor results for a lot of people this week, except for...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Banks - Graven - Rossi - Riether - G Badenhop
All 5 of these guys get there 1st stud of the week award going with Adrian Gonzalez who went 9/28, with 3HRs and 9 RBIs (21 pts)...Banks and Graven who are known to have their own weekly side wagers on RTTC, get to split the $50 5 ways...each get $10...Glenn Badenhop is now in 2nd place in BA at .333, thanks to a lot of the leaders having awful weeks...Graven, Badenhop and Reither are all 5 behind the leader in HRs with 7, and Graven is only 1 RBI off the lead in RBIs with 33. Good week fellas..(Google Pic - 5 guys)

DUD OF THE WEEK - Cowan
Rough week for our man from Minnesota....he went 2/21 via J Heyward...He dropped 43 pts to .297, but is still in good shape overall in BA...he is also in the middle of the pack in the other 2 categories...In his 3rd year, he is trying to make is first all star game, and it looks like his BA is his best bet for that.

Rough week for the BAs...
Only 17 of the 53 players raised their averages this week..and only 7 players are currently over .300, and 11 players are under .220

HRs
T Krauss is on pace for 62 HRs....Will this be the year some one breaks the record of 43 set in 2009. Currently 11 players are on pace for at least 44....

RBIs
T Krauss is also the only player that has had at least 5 RBIs in each week....consistency wins in this league...

Duds of the Week - Rossi, Brooks

These 2 guys went with Glaus and Ortiz and both ended up with only 4 total points...This is Rossi's 3rd DUD and Brooks 2nd DUD award...

Week 8 results

Stud- Ty Meyer, Biederstedt Bunch
They both went 8/13 - 4 HR, 8 RBI (Cabrera) and went for a total of 20....This is the first SOW for both as they split the $25...On a side note, If Troy Brooks would have gotten his pick in on time , he would have been the STUD with a 21 total...get those picks in on time T-Roy..it cost ya $25 this time..

Dud - Rossi
Terrible wee for Rossi as he went 1-20 (Werth-Less) for a total of 1...ouch...That is his 2nd DUD of the year...

Sorry not much write up this week, gotta go eat some burgers and drink some Fresca..later Happy Memorial Day...

Week 7 Results

Studs of the Week - Graven, Rossi, KJ Krauss, Keller

Huge week for all 4 as they went 13/27, 2HR, 9RBIs (Morneau)....This is Graven's 1st Stud this year and is now 3rd in RBIs...This is Rossi's 1st SOTW as well and raises his average 44 pts...This is also the 1st SOTW for Krista Krauss and she is the lone female in this years crop...She is now 3rd in BA, and has the early season bragging rights over me...grrreat...The last SOTW is Keller and this is 2nd SOTW in the past 5 weeks..He is 2nd in BA, and 1st in RBIs, could be Rookie of the year at this pace...Congrats to all...$6.25 to each for your efforts...Google pic - (GRKK)

Dud of the Week - Carl Jones

More of an unlucky week than a bad week...His pick Jorge Posada was scratched before Mondays game and he didn't play the entire week...That is the worst thing that can happen in RTTC...and to add to to it, his daughter is one of the Studs of the week, and he is a season ticket holder for the Cavs...not a good stretch...

HOT
Williamson - 6 HRs last 3 weeks...

NOT
Kapcar - 0 HRs last 5 weeks...

WEEK 18 RESULTS

This is a week that could be the turning point of the 2009 season. We had 4 players come up with a 7 day output that may never be duplicated for a long time...Our BA leader went 1-18 and lost 13 points on his lead...what a week it was...that brings us to.....

STUDS OF THE WEEK: ZGELA, BROOKS, WHITTLESEY, HERLIHY

.448, 6HR, 10RBI...Arguably the best week in RTTC history...what makes it even bigger the top 2 HR leaders before the week started pulled this off. Brooks and JWhitt now have a commanding lead on the rest of the HR field...Herlihy is now 3rd in HR and 2nd in RBIs....Zgela just gave himself new life as he just 2HR shy of 3rd place...the 6HRs in the week is a new RTTC record....Brooks now stands at 5th place on the single season HR Record....with 8 weeks to go...4 more HRs and he is the new champ, unless JWhitt passes him....this could be a McGwire-Sosa-ish HR finish. (Google Pic- Six)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: ROSSI, KAPCAR, S. GUELDE, DAVE KRAUSS, HERNANDEZ

.056, 0HR, 0RBI....On the opposite end of the spectrum than the STUDS...these guys really struggled this week getting only 1 hit(1-18)...the biggest news of this group is that Hernandez dropped 13 points in his BA lead and is now at .336....Bindel stayed steady at .322 in 2nd place...

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME

There were those four STUDS that had 6 HRs this week...Zorn has had 8....ALL YEAR!!

3 UP

Leonard... .412 last 5 weeks...raised BA 37 pts in that time

Brooks 26 hits last 2 weeks...25RBI last 3 weeks

Cowan...8HR last 3 weeks....11 total, prior that

3 DOWN

KKrauss... .171 0HR - 5RBI...last 3 weeks

Josh Biederstedt... .194 1HR - 8RBI..last 5 weeks

Laymon...8RBI last 4 weeks

WEEK 1 RESULTS-GREAT WEEK FOR THOSE NAMED CABRERA

STUDS OF THE WEEK- JOE KAPCAR AND CLARK CARROLL

These two picked Miguel Cabrera who had an unreal week going for .520 3 HRs 10 RBIs. Kapcar is now closing in on 200 career hits, while I am pretty sure it took Clark about 2 months last year to get past 10 RBIs...so great starts by both

DUD OF THE WEEK- DAVID ROSSI

This will be one of the rare times this year where the DOTW will have hit a HR during his or her bad week. This shows how good everyone did this week. Rookie, Rossi went 1-17....but that 1 hit left the park, so there is a positive at least. Hope he got this dud week behind him early and can bounce back.

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME-

Huge WEEK 1....This may be the only time all year where we see every player get an RBI...I really do not recall this happening last year...and only 11 out of 41 players hit over .300 for the week...the long ball was big this week as only 11 players didn't hit one.
