Week 14 Results

The MLB All Star break is finally here, so we are off until Thursday when action resumes for Week 15...Week 15 will be a short week that only lasts 4 days, so around 15 points should have a good chance at the SOTW...Here is what happened last week...

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Rossi, C Jones

It is fitting that these 2 finished off the 1st half with the SOTW as they both are now tied for the most this season with 3 each. They picked Aramis Ramirez and he put up 20 pts... Rossi is the current $ Leader so far with $85 in the bank, overall though his numbers are just a little bit better than average, but he is still capable of getting a top 3 finish in 1 of the categories. Jones has been absolutely on fire in the past 6 weeks...In that time he has gotten 3 SOTWs, 10 hits: 5 different times...batting .409 with 17 HRs and 43 RBIs...his first 8 weeks he was .251 with 5 HRs and 28RBIs...Last years MVP is looking to make it back to back this year...Also he is pissed that he got snubbed from this years All Star Game...(Google Pic - RJ3)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Leonard, Price

The tough luck losers of week 14...They went with Braun last week who got a total of 0 at bats....ouch...It is always tricky when there is a Sunday injury and he doesn't go on the DL...not much you can do about it. Leonard has had a fairly average year so far and this is his 2nd DOTW...Price is having a good season and is only 1 of 10 players currently batting over .300, and is in the top 15 in RBIs...Regroup over the break fellas...

2011 RTTC $$ Leaders

27 of the 53 players have at least 1 SOTW this year, thus are on the $ board...here are the leaders that are over $50...

1. Rossi - $85

2. Wyse - $50

3. Smith - $50

4. Zeitz - $50

5. Palumbo - $50

6. Sigler - $50

Week 15 picks due Thursday at 5PM...Those of us that are not all stars, enjoy your 3 day vacation..

Week 2 Recap

Lets get right into it...short morning with the 11AM game....

STUDS OF THE WEEK - W Rychener, Brink, Salvatore...

All 3 of these guys finished with a crazy 26 pts (14/27, 4HR, 8RBIs via Tulo)...This has put each of them in the top 10 of all 3 categories...lets see how long they can stay up top....Congrats on all 3 for splitting the $50...(Google Pic - RBS)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - Zgela, Leonard

Each of them only got 2 pts this week via Crawford and Kinsler...Zgela is still at .340 though, but Leonard fell below the .200 mark at .191...

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME -

W Rychener has 28 hits this season so far, getting 14 each week...M Badenhop has 3...total...he is due for a breakout week.

Week 1 Results..Just Getting Started

The opening weekend is in the books and we have some out to a fast start, and some that wish they could get a mulligan....BUT...it is a long long season, and things tend to average themselves out over the long run....So don't get TOOOO upset if you picked Longoria for the first week (which happens to be the longest week in RTTC history) , and he is now on the DL after putting up an 0-5 effort....(Ouch..the dreaded april oblique injury)...Lets take a look at the first update of the season...Remember Week 1 ends on April 10th, with Week 2 picks due the April 11th....

Greg Leonard out to a very nice start hitting .625..but that is only after 8 at bats....so chances are that will be down come next Monday...But he does have 10 "pts" already...(Rookies: When i refer to pts, that is how we come up with the Stud of the Week...Hits + HRs + RBIs = _ pts...On average last year.... a score of 18-20 pts would win the SOTW Pot)

Sunderman and Brooks both start the weekend off with 3 bombs each...lets see if they can beat the record of 6 in a week..if so there will be an *, especially if Sunderman breaks it....Only 41 more to break the season HR mark..

Brooks also leading the RBIs with 7....Brink is on his tail 6...Brooks is known to toss back a couple cold ones on Sunday nights and forget to make his picks on time monday morning...lets see if this hot start makes him more focused in 2011...

On the other end of the spectrum....

5 players still looking for their 1st hit....26 players looking for the 1st HR, and 19 looking for the 1st RBI....

I Got Screwed Award goes to: Both Badenhops....As rookies I am sure they just wanted to get a nice solid start with a very dependable player in Longoria....he gets 5 ABs then hurts his side...DL - 3 Weeks...rough start fellas....but look at the bright side...at least you won't go 1 or 2-20 which someone usually does per week...

Good Luck for the remainder of the 1st week of 2011....

Week 2 Results

STUD OF THE WEEK: Dan Rychener....he went 7-21, 5HR, 8RBI for a total of (20)..no one has has started RTTC this hot ever...Dan already has 9HRs on the year, there are 4 people without 1 still...Congrats to Dan for cashing in for Week 2 with the $25 pot...(GOOGLE PIC - D Rych)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: Leonard, Brooks, Doug Krauss, Prigge, Emmons...all 5 of these guys totalled only 3 hits for the week with 0HRs and RBIs for a total of (3)...Unfortunately for Doug Krauss he has been a DUD for the 2nd straight week and is the only one without a RBI on the year, but on the bright side, he did raise his average 23 points all the way up to .158...

STAT OF THE WEEK: Last year Dan Rychener finished his rookie year with 22HRs....this year thru 2 weeks he already has 9HR! He is on pace to hit 117...

4/6 Player of the Day

Torii Hunter was yesterday's player of the day....he went 3-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI...Greg Leonard and rookie, Carl Jones are the only 2 to select Hunter this week...So far 18/43 of us have hit a homer in the first 2 days...Full slate of games scheduled for today...

WEEK 17 RESULTS

STUDS OF THE WEEK: GREG LEONARD, DAN RYCHENER

.423, 4HR, 7RBI...Huge picks for a number of people this week, but the best all around numbers go to Leonard and Rychener...Greg is having a great year as he is currently top 10 in all 3 categories.....Not so much of a great year for Dan, but if he can put a few more 3 or 4HR weeks together, he will be right back in the mix.(google pic..leo rych)

DUDS OF THE WEEK: KYLE KRAUSS, JOSH BIEDERSTEDT, MIKE MEYER

.172, 0HR, 0RBI...The only 3 guys this week to have the double donut...After 13 straight weeks with a HR, Kyle now has gone 2 straight without one...Bieder has been struggling down the stretch as well, might wanna chalk this season up to the sophomore slump...Monk dropped 10 pts in BA this week, where he was almost .300...needs a good 2 month run in BA to get a top 3 finish.

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME

Bindel :
Week 14-Manny Ramirez... .455 - 2HR - 8RBI
Week 17-Aramis Ramirez... .455 - 2HR - 8RBI

WEEK 16 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK: RYAN JONES

.385 3HR 8RBI...Big week for RJ as he was the only person to hit 3HR...that matches his year high as he did the same back in week 5. He is only 7 HRs back from the leaders, so he could use a couple more Stud weeks to catch up...but there is still alot of baseball to be played. (google pic-RJ)

DUD OF THE WEEK: TIM GUELDE

.222 0HR 0RBI...Tim was the person to not collect an RBI this week, so that gave him the Dud status...his average only dropped 4 points, and he is only 10 pts out of third place in BA...everyone is hoping for a Hernandez collapse in that category.

HOT LAST 3 WEEKS

Leonard .379 5HR 18RBI

NOT LAST 3 WEEKS

Rychener 9-69 (.130) last 3 weeks

WEEK 2 RESULTS

STUD OF THE WEEK: GREG LEONARD

We should have known this was coming when he had 6 hits earlier in the week. Leonard finished the week with 15 hits, which ties the all-time record. He was .556 2 HR and 6 RBIs. This huge week puts him in 1st in BA, 2nd in HRs and 1st in RBIs

DUD OF THE WEEK: DAVE KRAUSS

1-7, 0 HR, 0 RBIs...this is one of the worst things that can happen in RTTC: when your player gets a Monday or Tuesday injury and has limited at bats. Luckily for Dave, he had a very good first week, so he isn't to far behind the leaders.

STAT THAY MAY ONLY AMAZE ME:

I think its going to take someone to hit close to .600 for the week to break the hits record of 15 hits in a week. Leonard went .556 and only tied it...thats going to be pretty tough to do...Also congrats to last years MVP, Brent Punches for hitting his 40th career homer this week..

KINSLER MAKES HISTORY

Not only did Ian Kinsler have 6 hits last night, he also hit for the cycle, making him the 1st person since 1890 to do so. Here was his stat line: 6-6 , 1 HR , 5 R , 4 RBI , 1 SB...not a bad night for ya there Leonard. On a side note, here is to hoping that Grady takes CC deep in the first ever at bat in New Yankee stadium this afternoon.

HanRam: Big Opener

What a start for a few who picked Hanley Ramirez(Leonard, DaKrauss, Plymale). He went yard and added 5 RBIs. To give you rookies an idea of how big that is...last year if you averaged 5 RBIs per week, you would have taken home 1st place for the year. So, huge start for you 3, now the rest of us can only hope for a strained abdominal for him today.

Also, an FYI, a new rookie joined late yesterday after I sent the picks out. Shawn Herlihy picked Jason Bay.

So that brings this years total # of Racers to an all-time high of 41, with 17 of them competing for Rookie of the Year(which earns you nothing, except for a sweet title).
