On The Miggy-Wagon

Miguel Cabrera was pretty damn good when he was apparently getting hammered every other night during the season in years past...Now that he is "on the wagon" it should be interesting to see how it effects him...Worked well for him yesterday as he parked 2 HRs...

Sunday is coming fast....get your week 1 picks in!!

40 RTTCers confirmed...will we break our record of 41 from last yr??

What's Your RTTC Strategy

So, how are you gonna pick your players? For the start of this year, do you look and see who finished strong last year? Or do you see who was hot this spring? Do you favor players that are playing in the warm weather or in domes in April? Or do you automatically chose from the teams that will play 7 games that week? Do you go for the sure fire players that hit for average? Or do you go for that guy that may only get 4 hits all week, but 3 leave the yard? Do you pick the player that everyone has on their radar? Or do you go far that guy that for sure no one else will pick, that way in case of a big week, you dont have to share the STUD OF THE WEEK WINNINGS. Do you just pick heads, or do you go tails?

This is the guessing game we all know as Race to the Crown. What I do know, out of the 26 weeks, there WILL be a week or 2 where you only get 2-3 hits, a few of us will go 0-fer. There WILL be a week when someone hits 4-5 HRs, meanwhile it may take some of us to the All-Star break to get 5 HRs. Whatever your strategy...choose wisely. However this season turns out, it will be a fun ride. Remember its a not a sprint, its a marathon.

5 days til Opening Night..get your picks/money in! Will you pick this years Opening Day outburst, ala Tuffy Rhodes?? Good Luck

Ryan "2-Times" Howard

It seems someone around the league will hit 2 HRs in a game everyday....the tough part is trying to predict which guy that may be...Yesterday, in spring action, it was a RTTC favorite pick, Ryan Howard...he knocked out his 2nd and 3rd of the spring as the Phillies walked-off.

3-22 Spring Update

Its about that time to start thinking of who to pick for Week 1. Yesterday's top performances went to a pair of Washington Nationals, who both will probably get picked at some point this year. Ryan Zimmerman hit his 4th and 5th HRs of the Spring while Josh Willingham hit his 3rd and 4th bombs...

13 Days from Opening Day

Wow, what a weekend we had with March Madness..from Cornell to St. Mary's, from Ali to Omar, from Ohio to Northern Iowa...we saw it all this weekend, with it culminating yesterday with a 6'6" Center bringing it up the court down 2, passing to the point guard with 2 seconds all the while, the coach almost called a timeout...my favorite moment of the weekend... Spartan Walk-Off. That's why this time of year is so great..

While all of this madness is going down, the baseball guys are getting tuned up in spring training, getting ready for opening days in 2 weeks. And that means we are getting ready for year 3 of RTTC...see previous posts on changes for this year's format.

I will start doing some daily posts to get in shape for the start of the season.

13 days from Sox-Yankees...
