Week 18 Recap

Week 18 was a strange one....The Stud only got 19 pts, and the Duds got 6...so as a whole, not much movement this week...

STUD OF THE WEEK - Josh Wyse

Wyse was 11/29 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs (Pence)...It is his 2nd win of the year and he now finds himself in 2nd place in HRs and 8th in RBIs...Could be on track for Rookie of the Year honors...(Google Pic - Wyse 2)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - R Jones, J Biederstedt

Both of these guys didn't have a typical DUD week as they finished with 6 pts each...For sure the best DUD week of the year so far...Bieder actually raised his average 3 pts this week...Overall this year though, both of these guys have struggled, and barring a miracle tear in the last 2 months, will not finish in the top 3...It's Bieders 3rd DOTW, and Jones 2nd...

BA RACE -

Right now it looks as if it is Mathews race to lose as he currently sits at .339, he hasn't been that high since week 3...Smith is in 2nd at .319, and their are 6 others above .300 looking to make a run

HR RACE -

Cowan is hanging on right now with 32...D Rychener and Wyse are close behind with 31...10 others have at least 25 HRs and are within reach of Cowan..but still plenty of time for others down the list to get hot and make a run...HR LEADER PROJECTED TOTAL = 46 HRs

RBI RACE -

Riether currently in the lead with 92 RBIs...Graven on his tail with 91...13 others have 80 or more and RBIs can pile up in a hurry...the RTTC week record is 17 in a week, so if anyone can approach a number like that, it could change the leaderboard in a hurry...RBI LEADER PROJECTED TOTAL = 132 RBIs

Monday Recap -

Joey Votto was the top RTTC performer last night with his late 3 run HR...that was his only hit of the night, but was good enough for a 5 pt night....Ryan Jones was the only one to pick Votto this week...

Week 7 Recap

Not very often does the concensus top pick of the week ened up being the SOTW, but this week that is exactly what happened...

Studs of the Week - Stout, Da. Krauss, Kapcar, R. Jones, Price, Pennington, Finkes, Perrotta

These 8 all went with Adrian Gonzalez who has been absoultely nuts in the month of May...Last week he was 13/27 with 7 RBIs (20pts)...This may be the first time ever that the SOTW did not hit any HRs...Each of the 8 Studs all on average raised their BA about 40 pts...Also this was the 1st SOTW for all 8 players getting them a pay out of $6.25 per....Congrats on the big week...(Google Pic - Elite 8)

Duds of the Week - Biederstedt, Banks, Brink

The not so killer B's this week all went with V Martinez and he did not deliver as he only got 3 hits in 19 at bats for a total of 3 pts....Of the 3, Brink is having the best year so far and is now under .300 for the first time all year at .295...

STAT THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME:

Since week 3, E Krauss (ME) has only 14 hits total...the SOTWs had 13 this week....unreal...and a side note the STL Cards "big 3" has just killed me this year going 9/66 .136 total when I picked them.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that this past week will be the weakest of the year, with the studs only getting 17 pts....

STUDS OF THE WEEK - Brink, Ceritelli

Brink and Ceritelli both take advantage of a weak week and get to split the $50 prize...(via Beltre, and Granderson...The 17 pts they got are the lowest Stud totals of the year....Brink stays hot as this is his 2nd straight co-stud award....The rookie J-Ceritelli is looking to make a run at rookie of the year and female of the year, (meanwhile her fiance, Joe Kapcar is a lock for over-achiever of the year) (Google Pic - B2C)

DUDS OF THE WEEK - R Jones, Perrotta

Forgettable week 3 for these guys as they both get 2 pts (Carlos Gonzalez)...Both of these guys are hurting in BAVG early on, but that changes alot early in the season, and shouldn't be of concern...they both have 4 and 5 HRs though, already, so they should be fine...with the studs only getting 17 pts, this was a good week to be a dud.

Week 15 Results

STUDS - Biederstedt, Whittlesey, Price

Nice weekend for these 3, as they put up a solid 15..(Cruz)...This is the first time I ever remember the SOTW not hitting a HR...This is P-Diddy Price's 3rd Stud, Biederstedts 2nd and last years MVP, Whittlesey's 1st....he could be making a 2nd half surge...good way to start the 2nd half fellas...(pic- BWP)

DUDS - Sunderman, Smith, Burger, Todd Guelde, Ryan Jones, Prigge, Emmons, Mangas

Not a good weekend for these 8 as they all ended up with only 2 pts....This is Prigges 3rd, Jones, Emmons, Mangas 2nd, and for the rest, this is only their 1st Dud appearence...If there is ever a week to be the DUD, week 15 is it...back to a normal week here in week 16....

STAT OF WEEK THAT MAY ONLY AMAZE ME-

Rob Price batting .267 and has 65 RBIs...

These guys all had big weeks via big AL Pujols ( 8/27, 4 HR, 9 RBI) 21 pts...Its Hernandez 1st SOTW, Brooks 2nd in 3 weeks, Reithers 1st, Keller's 3rd, and W Rycheners 1st SOTW of the year....Each will get $5 for their efforts..(pic, 5 for 5)

These guys got pretty much screwed this week as Utley (1 pt) was injured on tuesday and missed the rest of the week...not much you can do about that...its just the RTTC gods being unkind....Its Punches 2nd DUD and Ry Jones 1st....

Week 3 Results

STUDS OF THE WEEK: Banks, Williamson, RJones, Keller, Emmons, and CJones...These 6 either picked Miguel Cabrera or Ryan Braun...either way all had very solid weeks, but not spectacular for SOTW standards...The winning number this week was 18....each week that has gone down...My guess is that this week will be one of the lowest Stud totals of the year...congrats to each of you for making your 1st earnings of the year ($4.16 each) (Google Pic - BWJKEJ) ??

DUDS OF THE WEEK: 10 players tied for this weeks dump award...including all 8 Pedroia pickers...ouch...The low this week was a 4...not too bad really...Opposite of the Stud total, the Dud total has gone up each week...Notable DUD...Prigge...he has been a back to back Dud...not good...

SEPARATION: About 37% of us were either the STUD or DUD this week...that shows how quick things can change from week to week...

Ryan Braun...Big day for the Brew Crew as they killed Pittsburgh 20-0...(They missed their last extra point) Braun was 3-4, HR, 5RBIs and that is good news for Ryan Jones, Keller, and Emmons as they all 3 picked Braun this week...

STUDs OF THE WEEK: JODI BIEDERSTEDT, DOUG KRAUSS, RYAN JONES

Not a huge week at all for these 3, but better than the rest in a quiet RTTC week 23. Jodi now has 33HR..can she match her total of 37 last yr?? Doug is at .306, 34, 100...very capable of placing in all 3 cats.....RJ is hanging on by a thread...needs 3 huge RBI weeks to finish in the top 3

DUD OF THE WEEK: BRENT PUNCHES, MIKE MEYER

The 2 guys that are known by their one word names...Punches and Monk, each only had 1 AB this week as Pena got hurt on Monday. There line was 0-1, 0HR, 0RBI, 2 broken fingers...good work guys! Last years MVP, Punches, is not going to be able to defend his crown.

BA...Great Race here...Bindel is at .336, Hernandez is at .335..9 others over .300 fighting for 3rd..

HR..Whittlesey with 40HR now...first to reach that mark in RTTC history, will anyone else join him?

RBI..TKrauss with 127RBI...11 more than 2nd place Whittlesey...but these can be had in a hurry

STUD OF THE WEEK: RYAN JONES

.385 3HR 8RBI...Big week for RJ as he was the only person to hit 3HR...that matches his year high as he did the same back in week 5. He is only 7 HRs back from the leaders, so he could use a couple more Stud weeks to catch up...but there is still alot of baseball to be played. (google pic-RJ)

DUD OF THE WEEK: TIM GUELDE

.222 0HR 0RBI...Tim was the person to not collect an RBI this week, so that gave him the Dud status...his average only dropped 4 points, and he is only 10 pts out of third place in BA...everyone is hoping for a Hernandez collapse in that category.
