6/20 RECAP - B.O. Edition

STUDS OF THE DAY - Ryan Braun, David Ortiz

Both guys had a total of 6pts, that included a HR...6 guys picked Braun this week...3 picked Papi..

Braun is having a huge year and will be in the running for NL MVP again...(if any writers will vote for him again)  Triple Crown is very possible as well..

Braun 2012 League Ranks:

• 8th in NL in BA (.321)

• 1st in NL in HR (20)

• 2nd in NL in RBI (51)

Papi is having a great year as well...for some reason it seems very quiet to me, as I havent heard much about him...Sox being in last is probably 1 reason...He had a grandy last night...From Elias: David Ortiz's grand slam on Wednesday night was the 10th of his career at Fenway Park -- nine for the Red Sox and one for the Twins. (His lone road grand slam for Boston was against Tampa Bay in 2006.) Only two other players have hit at least 10 grand slams at one venue: Lou Gehrig had 11 at Yankee Stadium and Willie McCovey had 11 at Candlestick Park.

Papi 2012 League Ranks:

• 6th in AL in BA (.313)

• 6th in AL in HR (18)

• 5th in AL in RBI (49)

WEEK 10 RESULTS

We are 39% done with the RTTC season...the season is starting to take a clear shape..

STUD OF THE WEEK - Stout, Williamson

Stout and Willie both went with Braun who had a heck of a week...He was 10/28 with 4HRs and 7 RBIs (21PTS) (Midura picked Braun as well, but was late, so was not eligible) Its the 1st SOTW for both Stout and Williamson and the 2nd time this year Braun has been the top pick...They are both in the middle of the pack in all categories, except Stout is in the top 10 in BA....They share the $60..Congrats

DUD OF THE WEEK - Josh Biederstedt, Pennington, Schmidt

These guys went with Goldschmidt or Napoli this week...either way only had 1 hit (1PT) This is Bieders 3rd DOTW, Schmidt's 2nd DOTW and Pennington's 1st....Of all 3, thus far, Schmidt has the best shot in RBIs and is currently in 16th place there...Not a good debut week for Napoli on the RTTC board...

STUD OF THE DAY - ADAM DUNN

Big Donkey went 1-3 last night wth a HR and 3 RBIs...(5pts)...Jodi Biederstedt was the lone pick for Dunn this week (although not eligible for SOTW)  Dunn is having a huge bounce back year (in regards to HRs and RBIs at least...his BA still sucks) He already has 22 HRs and is on pace to hit a career hi 57..This was his 4th HR in his last 5 games...He will be a certain pick for anyone not concerned with their BA in the 2nd half..

2012 League Ranks:

• 1st in AL in HR (22)

• 3rd in AL in RBI (50)

• 1st in AL in BB (49)

6/13 Recap - Forgetting About Albert Edition

STUD OF THE DAY - Carlos Beltran

Obviously Matt Cain was the STUD last night, as he threw one of the best games of all time, but in RTTC, we just care about the bats...Beltran was 3/5, with a HR and a RBI (5pts)...Beltrans HR was all the Cards needed as they beat the CHW 1-0....He was only picked by Tommy Zgela, who is having a very solid season thus far...Beltran is having an unreal season..He is on pace for 49 HRs and 121 RBIs....

2012 League Ranks:

• 1st in NL in HR (19)

• 3rd in NL in RBI (47)

• 10th in NL in BB (28)

• 3rd in NL in SLG (.605)

• 5th in NL in OPS (.987)

6/12 Recap - JV Edition

STUD OF THE DAY - Joey Votto

He was 2/4 with a HR and 3 RBIs last night as the Redlegs smoked the Tribe 9-1...Votto was picked the 2nd most times this week (6), only behind Prince Fielder (9)...If he can go on a HR binge, he can be a legitimate contender for the NL triple crown...he is one of those guys in the league you ask, "why pitch to him?"

2012 League Ranks:

• 2nd in NL in BA (.357)

• 6th in NL in RBI (41)

• 9th in NL in R (39)

• 1st in NL in BB (49)

6/6 Recap - Golden Edition

STUD OF THE DAY - Paul Goldschmidt

He was 3/4, HR, 3 RBIs (7PTS) - Greg Leonard had the only pick for Goldy this week...Goldy is heating up...He has a tendency to hit HRs in bunches...He has 3 HRs and 5 RBIs in his last 7 games while hitting .450...He is the same dude that had 30 HRs last year in the Minors....before August even started..

From Elias: Paul Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs to help lead the Diamondbacks to a 6-1 win over Colorado. Goldschmidt now has 15 extra base hits in 62 at bats over his last 17 games after having only eight extra base hits in 101 at bats in his first 31 games of the season.
